Edited to add: OH has been able to swap his shift ... we can go to MIL's next week.
Ooh - does that mean you'll be able to make it tomorrow after all? Had a call yesterday from someone who is going to be camping at the caravan park opposite the golf club where the extra car parking is. She has bad knees and wanted to know where the nearest place to park was. She was quite shocked to learn that the town's car parks will be full and, in fact, further away from the market than where she is staying - literally 5 mins walk away! I appreciate bad knees but - how does she expect to get about when she's at the market?
'Fraid not @didyw ... the scaffolding is going up as I type ... we'll be leaving for MIL's some time tomorrow Just don't want to hang around here with that stuff going on ...
Glad to hear he seems to be settling @Hostafan1 ... I imagine that the atmosphere will be more calming than on a hospital ward. I hope that you're feeling more comfy with the situation now ((hugs))

hi all. Home from the Nursing Home. Hubby on pretty good form. Asleep a lot of the time, but happy enough when awake
That sounds so much better. Obviously comfortable and not distressed, so that is excellent. Make sure you take the opportunities you need for yourself re sleep, exercise etc. Also remember what other posters have said about people waiting for loved ones not to be around,to slip away quietly. Both my parents in law seemed to do that, and it certainly seemed deliberate. So don’t feel guilty about taking yourself off home as needed, I’m sure he knows when you’re with him. Are you enjoying today’s cooler weather? We certainly are, but it was still pretty busy by the sea this morning.
Glad he seems settled @Hostafan1 and hope you're getting some rest now.
I have finished sorting and tidying my sewing room and posted photos of the bag on the Craft thread. Now to go and see the chooks - 2 eggs today and much complaining as we confined them to their pen till midday. Now they're out in the potager and no doubt enjoying dust baths.
It's sunny and breezy so I need to go and water pots then some sunbathing I think. Legs still a bit pale.

Afternoon. The day started full of cloud but it’s now full of sun. Been tidying the annexe room to turn into a snug for Winter. Thought we’d have a sort out of the junk that’s accumulated over the years and make an extra room suitable for tv/reading etc when we don’t want to heat the lounge (north-west, high ceiling). Bonus is that any puppies or cats can visit as old carpet and sofa in there.
I see that Ch4 has made a deal so they can show the final of the tennis tonight. C’mon Emma 🇬🇧
Hosta - so glad the stress has at least eased off a little.
Glad you're able to get out of the vicinity, Dove. I hope she's found someone who knows what they're about, but still better to get out and not have to fret about what's going on.
Been gardening today One advantage of having been such a delinquent gardener last year is a bowlful of blackberries from the flower bed Also harvested calabrese and some french beans for dinner. The beans are a late variety that are really nice and tasty that come along as the runners are hitting that 'too stringy' point. **look away now if your tomatoes were hit with blight** I picked 1.5kg of ripe tomatoes as well, so I can make plaki tomorrow with the gigantes that are also just ripening now. Sorted out the onions (brown good, red poor), shallots and garlic (very poor this year) - all that could be salvaged is put away in the larder. I dug half the potatoes last week - might lift the rest next week before the slugs get at them. Also pretty indifferent this year. Along with some raspberries to go with the blackberries, not a bad harvest, if a little patchy.
The late agapanthus are blooming beautifully, and very late this year.

Afternoon all, Been busy today. Spent a few hours in the garden after dousing myself in insect repellent. Got rid of lots of willow herb, nettles and brambles. Deadheaded the dahlias and roses and things look much better out there. Changed the bed, got lots of washing done and vacuumed through. I'm sitting down now with a well earned cuppa. Glad to hear that Hubby has settled down well @Hostafan1
