@Hostafan1 ((huge hugs)) those are very wise words from @Ergates ... just keep agreeing and sympathising ... folk with dementia can't make sense of things, but they can feel emotions ... so people agreeing with them is good, even if they're talking absolute bunkum ... it really doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things if you agree with him that black is white, white is orange and that the moon is made of green cheese and Hobnobs ... if it makes him happy the warm glow he feels will stay with him for a while and that can only be a good thing.

Good volunteer session today lots of visitors. Apparently very good feedback from last week, even the ambassador was impressed. We heard that he was nervous about having to be polite about the garden as so many so called Japanese gardens outside of Japan are a jumbled mix of styles , he said that in our case he could see we were working hard to make it as authentic as possible.
Been absent today, on the lash with a very old friend who I only see every few years, sure I will suffer tomorrow, but no one except ourselves was injured or inconvenienced in any way.
Sounds like you have been given very good advice @Hostafan1, my little sis used to tell me about a lot of hurtful things mum used to say to her and she certainly said that she found the best thing was just to agree with whatever mum said.

Still no rain or storms here. They've all gone east of us and tomorrow's forecast for 5mm of rain has changed to 0.4mm. Might rinse the leaves a bit, if it comes.

Very heavy rain showers here today but no thunder. We managed to dodge the showers when we went for Hubby's hospital appointment. He's had a lot of tests and goes back on 20th for an appointment with the consultant. I've got my hospital appointment tomorrow. No real gardening today, although I did manage to pot on a couple of small columbines that I want to grow on before planting in the garden. I used to agree with everything mum said when I visited her, she didn't have dementia but it always made for a pleasanter visit. Mind you I used to have to bite my tongue about some of the things she said. Hope he settles down @Hostafan1
@Yviestevie 😊 Ma was never wrong so agreeing with her whatever she said was the best course of action. Pa’s advice to my son when he married was to say ‘Yes dear’ and then do what you were going to do anyway … but first wait until she’s lost interest. 😉

OH has just put his nose outside the door and said it is raining.
