Verflowing Hosta. 😁😁😁. And very happy to see it.
Hope you and Hubby are ok. Love and best wishes to you both.
It’sFathers Day here today and I didn’t remember until the girl on the TV said something about it. 🤭😳. Oops. We don’t give each other gifts for those things anymore, but I’ll have to think of something special for tea tonight. Not sure what.
Good morning all 😊 ☕️ and good news @Pat E … great to know your land has been watered, the dams are full and the rivers are flowing … will you get even more spring flowers now? We have a lovely sunny morning morning to start the week … and OH has most of this week at home as he did extra shifts last week when his manager was in Glasgow setting up a new shop. @WonkyWomble is visiting tomorrow … I’m going to help with a bit of paperwork for her and she’s going to do a bit of gardening with me if there’s time. Apparently she’s bringing lunch with her … I’m being spoiled 😊

A bit grey out here this morning, and there was a pinky tinge to the sky when I opened the curtains earlier. That does mean it might rain? OH still asleep, so I’m sitting in bed listening to strange noises on the roof. Probably the crow family. When they see the curtains open, they come and sit on the branches near the window, ready for their breakfast ( cashew nuts and suet pellets, we do spoil them) I expect they are currently scavenging under the lumps of moss that grow on the roof, which they then toss onto the ground. Between them, the magpies, and the blackbirds, we end up with rather messy paths, but very little moss persisting on the roof tiles!
Change of plan … Wonky has just phoned … she has caught her brother’s snotty cold (tested negative twice so just an ordinary lurgy) … but she doesn’t want to bring it here and infect us … particularly so close to our holiday… so we’ve postponed her visit and the lunch quiche she made yesterday has been frozen.
It’s a shame, but we’d better be sensible … for once 😉

Two local villages are having secondhand markets today and there is an Open Garden (French NGS) this afternoon, so I'll pop round to all of it. Should be cake.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Oooh enjoy the cricket @chicky 🏏 Our agapanthus (deciduous) have been amazing this year ... I had intended to split them this spring (2021) ... it'll have to be next now ... It's interesting, isn't it, how some plants have responded so well to the very odd weather pattern (or rather non-pattern) this year ... our runner beans have been stupendous, and earlier honeysuckles, grapes and rambler roses phenomenal ... but clematis and salvias and Lon. Serotina have not been so so happy.

A glorious morning here in sunny Suffolk! But am about to go into town with my chalk line marker and stencils to mark out the pitches for next Sunday's street market. A pleasant evening last night at a friends for drinks - we all remarked how much we missed social chit chat during lockdown.
Edited to add: speaking of agapanthus; one friend had proudly put a pic on FB of her gorgeous agapanthus in a long stretch against a cream coloured wall. Fabulous. But she told us last night she asked her husband to deadhead them and returned to find the whole lot cut down to the ground! The husband was still alive and had been allowed to attend the party.
Sorry the big GC wasn't up to scratch after all your efforts to get there @Busy-Lizzie - but glad you managed to pick up some nice plants at the fair. Best to be safe than sorry @Dovefromabove but you must be disappointed not to be spending a sunny day in your garden with Wonky!
Indeed @didyw ... but I appreciate her consideration The local press had a feature on your Plant Fair yesterday. I'm hoping we're going to get down to have a look ... any recommendations for parking ... it seems a very long time since I parked in Bungay!
OH has put a Charles Trenet album on .... our Sunday morning music ... and it reminds me of a week in Paris with the art school when we first 'noticed' each other ...

Good morning all, a chilly night followed by a hot day today. We have decided to have a lazy day today, OH has been up the scaffolding for a few days hanging on and doing masonry painting he hates hights but knew it would be cheaper than getting someone in to do it. Have picked tomatoes to give to one of the neighbours no blight here just some sun scorch. Time to put the percolator on now for a lazy cup of coffee on the terrace. Best wishes to all, enjoy your day.

Should be hot and sunny here.

On a train again, on our way to the Oval for a bit of cricket. Hoping for some early wickets and a spell of prolific England batting 🙏🏻
Our Agapanthus have had a cracking year this year - all in pots, but all repotted this spring. Obviously a job I need to do more regularly 🙄
