Hello everyone. T'Bird and I had a very pleasant mooch around the gardens after the essential cup of tea. The castle keepers heard we were coming and locked it all up. Seriously, its only open Thursdays to Sundays but the grounds are open all the time so we made the most of it. Mr T'Bird left us too it - wise man! The wonderful array of plants in the borders kept us guessing their identities and the vegetable plots were really beautiful with stunning colours of various edible plants. I was in heaven!
Cacoethes: An irresistible urge to do something inadvisable
When I got home I went across to do cat duties whilst the road was still quiet - alledgedly. It was buzzing with traffic even at that time, so heaven help us once the schools go back. Friends have suggsted I get a lolly pop sign, a white coat and a high vis sash.
Heard from Bestie and her daughter has started on the long road to recovery. She is off the antibiotics, can walk a little better but still cannot climb stairs. Her knee is very swollen and she will need a scan on it. At least its a bit more positive for her. I'll see them both on Thursday when I go round.
Busy, it does sound as though you are 'getting there' now though. Once the new furniture arrives you will be able to stash more things away.
Cacoethes: An irresistible urge to do something inadvisable
Had a great day with LB at Sizergh. As she said the kitchen garden was extremely colourful & the veg looked very healthy. The ferns and acers were another highlight. Always lovely to meet my forum friends and today was no exception.
OH and I then drove on up to our next camp site but we did a very scenic route instead of just haring up the motorway. Part of it covered what would have been his cycle route for today. Boy was it hilly and that was only the last 10 miles at the end of a 60 mile route which included climbing Tan Hill. He's not convinced he would have finished it so probably just as well he didn't start!

Thank you all for kind wishes, especially for those delicious cakes.
I had a nice day, not completely without chores. Few friends and neighbours came, luckily not all at same time. I'll take short rest before dinner.ย
