    Morning all,

Looks set for a dry, cloudy week. Not warm enough for the liking of my tomatoes I'll wager.

Working today after listening to the repetitive thud of a nearby house party until gone 2pm. It wasn't that loud here but I bet their NDNs were overjoyed.

Happy birthday to SGL's poppet. Good morning Biglad and SGL.
Biglad, my handy brother has got NDNs like that. Lovely people but they go crackers at the weekend. They drink a lot and then start singing. They kept him awake until 03:00 Saturday morning. He was frazzled. They've done it before but it was until 05:00 the last time. He had a few words and they were very apologetic but I'm hoping this will give hive the impetus to find a new home. He is an early riser like me and he told me that the next time they keep him awake, he will get up at the crack of dawn and put his music on. I'm not altogether certain that is the best way to go about things but I'm sure it will give him a great deal of satisfaction.

I think that handy brother and I have a similar outlook @Ladybird4 - fight fire with fire!

Afternoon all - another day of best laid plans etc. After getting up and having breakfast OH decided he was feeling very tired and a tad fragile which doesn't make for a good start to a 50 mile bike ride.

Persuaded him to have a day off and we've driven 20 miles to see his mum instead. We'll head off to Leyburn later this afternoon and he can resume cycling (or not) tomorrow.

LB - I lived in a semi a few years ago and the neighbours had a (not so young but still troublesome) son living at home. He decided to have a party one night when his parents were away so we had cars all over the communal drive coming and going, people outside chatting, music playing and a not insubstantial amount of happy weed being smoked - all until 5am. I went round to complain to no real effect.

I don't know if he appreciated Madame Butterfly being screeched out at 7am at full volume with the windows open in the adjoining bedroom - but he didn't do it again....

Afternoon all,  I've been moving furniture today.  Dropped off a couple of bedside cabinets at Firstborns and picked up a pine dresser for the conservatory that I'm going to paint to match the dining table and chairs (when I get my painting head on again).
It's been grey and cloudy here too all day, quite miserable in fact.
Hope your OH feels better @Topbird
Glad the christening went well @Busy-Lizzie
    Happy Birthday Poppet
    Hope I haven't forgotten anyone.

Evening all. Cats fed. No trophies. Hoorah!
T'Bird, I love your style - and choice of music - they sure got the message. Yvie, you are getting very ambitious with all your upcycling. Are you using Heritage paints for your furniture?

Evening all. OH is feeling quite a bit better after a nana nap followed by a full 2 course roast dinner from his mum. How does she begin to do that at 2hrs notice? even without taking into account her advanced years and the fact she lives on her own, I think it's amazing she can do it without even popping to the local convenience store for a bit of veg. I certainly couldn't unless you caught me on a very good day.

We repaid her hospitality with eggs (requested!), Thorntons millionaire shortbreads and fixing a cupboard door and a curtain rail. I think we may have got the better deal.

Now snuggled in at Leyburn listening to the rain pitter pattering on the roof....

Hazel - we rather like Hawes - particularly lunch at and cheese from the creamery.

Yvie - gotta love a bit of upcycling🙂

LB - glad there were no presents waiting for you - or maybe there were. Well hidden until that distinctive aroma sets in. All cat owners have been there....🤢
