Oh my goodness T'Bird, yes indeed. How can something as miniscule as a shrew create a smell that is at least the size of an African elephant? And to make matters worse, crawl into and die in an area that requires the complete removal of furniture in the living room to access the poor little corpse. I've just finished in the garden and joy of joys a calling card in the middle of the path that tells me my hedgehog is around. My wet cloth things are all dried and stashed and I'm tuning up the brain for Quiz Night on TV.

LB I'm using chalk paint.  I've used Johnstone's Antique Sage in the kitchen and Rust Oleum Antique White on the dining furniture.  Prefer using the Johnstone's as it goes on better.  Had to water the Rust Oleum down as it was a bit gloopy.

    Evening everyone,
Thank you for your birthday wishes to Poppet.
We had a lovely day with the birthday girl and her sister and mummy and daddy. She loved her dolly pushchair and cuddly cat got a ride in it 😄 Birthday cake was delicious.
Sounds like you've all had a busy day. Love the sound of your up cycling @Yviestevie.
Will say goodnight to you all. Sleep well everyone, sweet dreams.
Last day of August tomorrow, how did that happen!
  • You’ll be glad you’ve finished for the day and with the cats and hedgehog, such lovely creatures.  Yvie your painting reminds me of times when I was younger doing the same.  Hazel I haven’t been to Hawes but definitely somewhere I’d like to visit.  Lily time to rest after your busy day.  I’m glad you’ve enjoyed it.  Goodnight everyone, sleep well.
  • Good morning everyone.  I had an early breakfast and then I’ve been watching the Paralympics.  Sarah Storey has sixteen medals now, quite a feat.  Quite cool early hours.  I hope you’re all in the land of nod.  Time for tea.

Duties completed. I got a great welcome from Pepsi but there was no sign of Candy. The food had gone from last night though.
SGL I cannot believe where August has gone either. I was happy to hear that you had had a lovely time at Poppet's party.
Yvie, I really like the sounds of those paints you have described. I think I've mentioned this before but in the village there is a little workshop where you can go for lessons in how to paint your furniture. They do also paint furniture for you if you want. It must give you a great sense of satisfaction when you can 'personalise' your furniture like that.
