LB I hope your brother finds a bungalow he likes and in good order.  I’m sure he’ll appreciate you being there.  It’s good to have another opinion.  Ante enjoy your iced tea.  Dove, as LB says, a productive few days. Â
Morning everyone, I slept really well last night, best nights sleep I've had in ages. Sorry you were awake early @bluebellsinthewild Its sunny here this morning. @Ladybird4 have fun house hunting with your brother. Or should I say bungalow hunting 😉 Hope he finds one he likes and there's not too much repairs/alterations need doing.  @Ante30 have a restful day and enjoy your ice tea. @Dovefromabove sounds like a lovely few days catching up with family. Your MIL will have loved seeing you all and the help in the garden. @Busy-Lizzie I'm sure those few pounds will soon disappear you are always in the garden in France. Have a lovely day everyone, whatever you're doing.Â
LB, thanks for the rain. It will come around wednesday with temperature drop. Till then here will be like in oven. Tomorrow will be the highest temperature, around 40℃.
As I'll be on my own in France I won't eat so much. OH keeps buying me chocolate and taking me to the pub! He likes sauces and gravy, I'll do without them. I love soft doughy English bread, don't like the hard Dordogne baguettes.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Morning all. We've been out and cut (yet another) hedge this morning. Only took an hour with both of us at it and it's good to get that job out of the way for another year. I'm going to have another hour outside and then I might get to chillax with a book (as I hoped to do yesterday, but never did).
Ante - 40C is unbearably hot to even contemplate doing anything more energetic than wilting in a chair.
The hottest place I've been to was Palm Desert in California where it was 42 - 45C every day. However (clue's in the name!) it was the desert, so it was a very dry heat and more bearable than a much lower but more humid temperature. Plus it was America so all the buildings were air conditioned and they had installed lots of shade outside. Plus we were on holiday so we were doing nothing more energetic than walking between either our apartment and the (air conditioned) car or from a shady lounger to the swimming pool.
LB - hope your brother sees something he likes. House viewing is one of those mixed experiences for me. It satisfies my inner nosey nature but also often leads me to despair about the way in which some people live their lives.
If you're showing your house at least clean the dog poo off the path and grass (why not cut it while you're out there?) and wash up last night's dinner things, make the bed, pick your dirty pants up off the floor and open some windows to air the place. Trust me - not everyone knows the basics...
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down
