Oops sorry @Chivetalking you weren't there just now. Sorry to hear your mum was a bit low yesterday, but glad she's feeling a bit brighter this morning. She'll look forward to seeing you later. Best wishes to you both x
Lily having all those shirts to iron ,and all the other ironing is enough to put anyone off ironing .It was lots of blouses and skirts when my girls were at home.As they got older they wanted to iron their own clothes.🥳🥳 Chive ,good to hear that your mum is feeling a bit brighter .
Chive sorry to hear mum was a bit low.  Good that she’s feeling brighter today.  Sending my best wishes x.  LB enjoy your time with the rellies this morning.  Lily sorry to hear oh is feeling lethargic.  I hope you both have a restful day. Â
Hello all later arrivals. Well the M6 was an absolute nightmare this morning. The rain was so dense it was like driving through fog and the windscreen wipers were struggling to cope. Saw all the rellies that were around and them to add insult to injury, whilst heading back to my car I stepped in what I thought was a little puddle! It wasn't quite a Vicar of Dibley moment but the puddle was ankle deep so I had to drive home with one wet right foot and trainer. Deep joy!
Debs, am I right in thinking that your oldest daughter, oldest son and oldest granddaughter are coming round for a ROAST dinner or have you put them on some sort of extreme diet?
Good to see you Chive and to hear that your Mum will get her operation tomorrow. I'll bet she is itching to be back at home. Sending up positive thoughts for you all.
My Mum was a fanatical ironer - maybe thats why I'm totally disinterested. She even ironed dusters and underwear. How sad is that?
Cacoethes: An irresistible urge to do something inadvisable
Cool, cloudy and windy, rain forecast this afternoon. I don't think we will visit the NGS garden we had planned to visit, it's a bit of a drive away anyway.
I'm just having a hot chocolate, normally a winter drink.
I'm glad your Mum won't have to wait much longer for her operation @Chivetalking. Someone suggested that my OH should fall over and call an ambulance - to get his hip replacement quicker.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Afternoon all - I'm home - came back last night. OH is still away but I couldn't face another noisy day at the circuit. Enjoyed a lovely long sleep-in🙂
Bletchley Park was brilliant - I was there for over 7 hours and still didn't see everything. Had been before - we went shortly after it first opened when lots of the huts were in a very poor state of repair and the survival of the museum itself was very uncertain. What a difference 12 years makes!
Everything is now spick and span with superb exhibitions and there is no question this museum could ever be allowed to close. Bletchley's role during the war is obviously the primary story - but the immense contribution they made to modern computing and the fact that the organisation that was Bletchley is now GCHQ means their story is both important and highly relevant today. Fabulous - go if you can!
@Busy-Lizzie - remind me on Wednesday to talk to you about it. Bletchley will be interested to hear about your mum (even if it's just her name) if they don't already have her listed in their catalogue of veterans.
@debs64 - I was thinking you were the hostest with the mostest like me if you're providing toast dinner. That's my sort of catering🤣 Hope you've had a nice family day🙂
LB - did you say 'Oh dear!' when you had your (nearly) Vicar of Dibley moment?😉
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down
