Flipping heck Hazel. I wasn't all that up to speed with valances. I do know that Mum had a flat one that went between the mattress and her divan base and for my single bed I had some that were sort of fitted on the top and sat over the mattress before I made up the bed. I don't know which one was which but suspect the flat one would be the one you call a sheet valance. I don't need them on my bed as it is a wooden sleigh bed - pain in the bum to make up!
Ruby that is excellent news so far. Fingers crossed that your OH manages some sleep tonight and doesn't feel too bad tomorrow.
It has gone suspiciously dark here again but I have managed some dead heading and cutting back.

Afternoon everyone. The sun is still shining and it's a very warm day too. Have done a few bits and bobs indoors and some more trimming back in the garden. Everything is bigger and greener 😂
Our balance fits under the mattress with a 'frill' around 3 of the edges. I usually have a bit of a fight  getting it on.  Do you mean @Songbird-1 that the  'sheet' valance goes on the mattress and is a sheet as well as the valance?  Didn't know there were different types.  Except the 'frill' can be a gathered one or not and look flatter with pleats at the end corners and one in the middle of the 3 sides.....if you get my drift 😂 I have the pleat type ones 😁
Hazel you sound like you've had a busy day.
@Rubee so glad OH is home. Hope it's not too painful. That's an awful lot of injections to have in one go. Hope he manages to get a good night's sleep tonight.  I didn't realise he has suffered with a headache for so long, that must be horrendous. And so debilitating for him. Sending a big hug, really hope the injections work for him.
@Chivetalking hope your mum is feeling a bit better today. Best wishes x

Afternoon - I've had a lovely day meeting up with the girls. Think we put the world to rights.... Thank you ladies!

It's been very warm - hope it's not too hot if we're rubbing down the shed tomorrow - so much paint flaking - has to be done.

Rubee - very best wishes to you and your OH. I do hope the injections work.

It was a lovely outing @Topbird … having fun can be tiring … I must practice more 😉

Good to hear that you all had a pleasant time. Unfortunately Marti arrived and put a halt to my gardening plans.

I really enjoyed our outing to Peter Beales Roses too. There was a fourth member of our party, Didyw, who posts on Hello Forkers, nice to meet her. I've met Dove and Topbird before. We had a good chat over lunch. The roses were mostly over until the next flush but there were perennials and cosmos and the plant sales were tempting.

I'm glad your OH is home safe and sound, @Rubee, I hope the injections work.

Some of the best laid plans....

OH should have been home for dinner about an hour ago - he's been instructing on little 'planes all day.

Had a phone call about 45mins  ago to say that he and his student had had to declare a Mayday and make an emergency landing away due to engine problems. Everyone's OK and they're on their way back to base by car at the moment. As he said - there will be a shed load of paperwork to do tomorrow.

Speaking of sheds - the things some people will do to get out of painting them🤨 Just glad they're both ok.

Oh my goodness T'Bird. What a fright you must have had after your lovely day. I am so pleased that your OH and his student are safe and sound. A complex way to get out of painting though!
