Sounds like a perfect evening, WonkyWomble. Detectorists is one in of the cleverest, and most charming series I’ve ever watched. A real masterpiece, brilliantly understated.Ā
    Enjoy!
And an added delight is that much of it is filmed around my brother’s farm (remember those stacks of wooden potato boxes?) and in Framlingham, where I went school … I know the insides of many of the buildings and the hall where the Detectorist club has its meetings is where I sat my ā€˜O’ levels šŸ¤ÆšŸ˜„

    It's my happy place @Ergates
I grew up close to where it was filmed,  had ballet and tap class in the hall they held their meetings in so as well as the subtle intelligence of the humour in the writing,  it's a real trip down memory lane for me and @Dovefromabove. More so now as 2 friends of ours were the couple of hikers in series 3, one of them is no longer with us so nice to see him again. I worked in the restaurant and drank in all the pubs as a teenager.  I shall never forgive bbc for cancelling it!! Like I say,  it's my happy place 😊

Good evening all. Been released from Aunty-ing duties so the house feels quiet tonight. We had a fab time - craft, games, and general monkeying around.Ā

Just read back at everyone’s trials and news. Enjoy the rest of Sunday evening and here’s to a good week ahead.Ā

Cream-crackered here.Ā  The larger wisteria has been pruned after OH pranged it with the doors of the hired van he used for bringing Possum's effects home.Ā  Ā Lots of potting up and on this pm from hostas needing rescuing from snails to lilies that have finished flowering to rooted stems of cornus, rose cuttings to move on and pots of herbs for the kitchen.Ā  Ā

The chooks helped too which is funny but just a bit messy.Ā  Ā I very carefully piled all the waste and prunings in the wheelbarrow and they gleefully re-arranged it all and scattered it on the drive.Ā  OH will be so happy.

However, we're having a day off from gardening tomorrow and going toĀ  brocante/flea market and may have lunch out.Ā  Ā  Probably get mucky again tomorrow pm.

Probably too sleepy to binge watch anything tonight.

Hope you all have a good evening and a good night.

Can’t blame the BBC for that one @WonkyWomble … Mackenzie Crook said he didn’t want to write any more … didn’t want to spoil it … stopped while it was still fresh. Ā ā€˜Dont Forget the Driver’ has some of its charm, but it’s not the full package …

It is lovely if poignant to see J & C again 😢

Not true @Dovefromabove,Ā  read an article today saying he's thinking of doing another series, guess he's changed his mind šŸ¤”Ā

Ah that’d be good @WonkyWomble … maybe he’s had long enough to cogitate on some new ideas. Don’t really want it to turn into Last of the Summer Wine or ā€˜Allo ā€˜Allo …,going on for ever …rehashing the same ideas over and over again.Ā

I don't think I'd mind @Dovefromabove, we love Allo Allo here,  have every episode!! It's so funny! It's our rebellion against political correctness! 🤣

We love it … but the later ones are nothing like as good as the earlier ones.Ā
