There was an article way back in the Mail (we only got the Mail on the weekend as my wife liked doing the puzzles in the paper and the supplement!) about a person being terminally ill and how the friends and family thought it was their right to go and see them - to the partial exclusion of the people closest to them. Then it happened with my wife as well. There are times when it's acceptable and times when you just want to be alone with them eh? It's a nightmare of a time that I wouldn't wish on anyone. Treasure the time you have - if/when you can.

Put down the boundaries right at the start @Hostafan1 … if they can’t stick to them tell them to leave …(!if they cause trouble call the police … but they won’t cause trouble cos they’ll be scared they’ll have to care for him).Ā

Remember you’re in charge … you are marriedĀ and you have POA … they can go whistle. šŸ˜‰Ā

    Good morning all.

I'm so sorry @Hostafan1. Maybe poxy sister could look after OH so you could have a sleep, go out for the day or something. Then they'd see what you are coping with. I hope the doctor brought some morphine.

I must do some gardening, only a week left here now before I go back to France.

Hello everyone.Ā  Ā Hot here and 29C already.Ā  Ā OH is busy barrowing compost from the big heap by the barn to a newly cleared bed in the veg plot but I suspect it may be too hot to plant my beetroot plugs till almost dinner time.

I have lots of weeding to do but not in this heat and some more plants to pot up and on - lilies to sort out and re-pot, rose cuttings and a toona sinensis Flamingo to pot up - but I may just retreat to the shade for that and then potter indoors.

Hope the impending visit doesn't wind you up @Hostafan1.Ā  Lay down rules at the offset.

Pleased for your girls @chicky.Ā  We managed to get Possum done by early July cos I nabbed a spare slot on a website.Ā  Ā  I gather the French are now much keener to get vaccinated because of the Pass-Covid rules for going just about anywhere so there won't be many such free slots anymore.

Better start making lunch - panzanella today cos it needs to be light and fresh.
