Good morning @Pat E  I hope you are not too cold way down there!!  The mercury hit 39°C yesterday afternoon - not a breath of wind - very suffocating.  Night time the temp. dropped to 23°C but it's rising now steadily.  Still no breeze.  Have done some watering as the pots were too hot to water last night.  Garden good.

@D0rdogne_Damsel   Lovely photos, you look happy and relaxed.  "Look".  I said.  Wonderful that the theme evenings are working out well for you.

@Hostafan1   It's nice that you can take your husband out with you.  It would perk him up no end, I am sure.

    Have a good day everyone.

  • Morning @tui34. Yes, very happy, especially when everything goes to plan.  :) We have managed to organise the theme evenings to be as straighforward as possible whilst still keeping the wow factor. The menu is simple, everyone has the same with just a choice for dessert of two things that are made up in advance and can be sold on the main menu the day after. The hardest thing is getting tearoom customers out at 6pm so we can get the tables laid up for 7pm. Once the musician starts practicing they all sit and enjoy a free concert.

I have got a man coming next week to give me a quote for a 'garden kitchen' or in other words an overspill washing up and food preparation kitchen. My plan is then to employ some one on the theme nights (possibly young person) to just simply do all the washing up as we go along. Our main kitchen is too small for me to send out 50 meals and have someone in with me washing up too. Makes for a log shift when we only start washing up when all the food has gone out. It means the wash-up doesn't have to be presentable to customers/speak French & English or have to be dynamic like the waitresses. We will see how much the quote is, at the moment the room is basically an outside store room, definitely under utilised.

Sunny and warm here and the garden is looking very nice, as long as you don't look to closely. I am picking fresh flowers everyday for the tables and they do look lovely.

Ok. have to go, another busy day ahead.

Have a good day all. :)

Morning all from ‘under the eaves’ again 😊 ☕️
    that sounds like a plan @D0rdogne_Damsel … 🤞

We had a lovely day yesterday … OH painted the shed, I did a bit of weeding,  his sisters popped round for a visit, then I sat in the garden room with my knitting and chatted with MIL. After supper OH’s oldest friend came round and we sat out and watched the shooting stars. 💫  😊

Tui, I’ve had a lovely day, thanks. Minus 5.5c early, but lovely & sunny and mild day for the rest.  About 17 I think. Still no clouds.

The whole of NSW is now under lockdown, so I’m not sure if we can go to town for shopping. We’re ok though. There’s probably about a month’s supply of food in the house if need be. The basics of flour, rice, pasta, canned fish etc,  and a freezer full of bits and pieces.

Your day sounds ideal Dove.it’s the type of day I’ve come to enjoy.  My friend has sold her cafe, and the new owner doesn’t plan on selling any craft, so it seems that I can have a break from  knitting the gloves. I’m rather glad because I was getting a bit tired of doing them.  Today, I’ve been sewing up dolls that have been staring at me for some time, and they sell well in the little gallery, so it’ll be interesting to see what happens in town with the new lockdown starting tonight.  It’s not for the money that I do them, just for the pleasure of knowing that people like my work.🙄

    Morning folks 😀😀😀

Going to be taking cuttings this morning (inspired by CK last night).  Hydrangea, lavender and salvias.

Also keep meaning to mention ……lost my outdoor tomatoes to blight last week ….same as everyone else I know round here ☹️.  GH ones are currently ok, but probably only a matter of time as I can’t stop the automatic ceiling vents from opening.

Littlest chicklet gets second jab tomorrow, Chicklet does the same on Sunday.  All their friends doing the same.  No vaccine hesitancy in sight here.

    oh ….and I am now a Great Aunt 🥳👶🏼…..little girl 😍
