Hello all, so tempting @Hostafan1 to do as Dove suggestsĀ  :o.
Hot and humid here today, early watering done, stung twice on the fingers by wasps and then stubbed my toe, was it really Friday 13th yesterday and not today?
No blight on the tomatoes here only sun scaldĀ  :#

Poor Hostafan, I do feel for you. I must confess, the Covid excuse sounds really tempting. Maybe some full yellow waste bags at the front door, and tell them that the district nurse types couldn’t come because you’ve been in contact with Covid.Ā
You could get OH settled by a window for a wave to them, and use the Covid excuse. At least they will have seen each other. I don’t suppose they’ll want to stay long anyway if they are on their way to Cornwall, especially if the traffic is as bad as it usually is.Ā

Hope visitors have gone and life is back to the ā€˜new normal’ (whatever that is) now @Hostafan1 šŸ¤—Ā

We are home now … OH left some important keys at his mums but fortunately she spotted them before we’d got too far and she rang us so we could loop back and pick them up.Ā

We stopped at a farm butcher and got a rib eye steak Ā for me tonight, a big chicken Kiev for OH and a piece of pork shoulder to roast tomorrow.Ā

Now I’m unwinding in the sofa and OH has unpacked and sorted stuff and is drinking a well-deserved cuppa.Ā

They stayed way longer than Hubby or I would have liked, but , it gets worse! they're coming back on Tuesday

Is there a chance you could arrange a community nurse visit to coincide for Tuesday … or could the GP decree NO VISITORS! as hubby is very tired … or maybe you could get someone else to come around and persuade them their visit should be terminated now? Ā Shame I’m up here …

You could welcome them with open arms… say how kind of them to want to lighten your load … and send them to water the poly tunnels šŸ˜‰Ā

How annoying, Hostafan. Are they on their way back home on Tuesday? If so, hopefully that will be the last you see of them.Ā
If you are feeling generous, at least you can console yourself that they will have had a chance to say goodbye, and you won’t have to suffer any future qualms that you deprived OH of the chance to do the same. Brownie points all round, even if very uncomfortable to achieve.Ā
Hopefully while they are there, you won’t feel the need to entertain them. Can you keep busy elsewhere, but within earshot if OH starts to get distressed?Ā

I do hope you managed to get some morphine patches despite the currently lousy service being provided by some pharmacies. Our local branch of a national chain is taking 7 to 10 days to process repeat prescriptions. I had a new prescription sent to the pharmacy, and it took a week to find out that it hadn’t been sent to the pharmacy the surgery told me it was at, but had gone to a different one! They hadn’t got it either, and of course it was a weekend, so I couldn’t contact the surgery to find out what was going on. Ā Turned out it got lost in the airwaves, and had to be manually retrieved. By the time I finally got the medication, I didn’t need it any more.

The visit was bearable, and I got the chance to say there will be no funeral. Direct Cremation .
Not sure they were thrilled by that, but tough, it's what we both decided years ago.
