@Hostafan1 it's so hard. I hope the morphine patches - when you finally get them - are a help

Poor Hostafan. Don’t know how practical this might be for you, but I’ve heard it works for those with sleepless babies, and no work or other caring commitments. Every time OH falls asleep in the day, get your own head down quick and have a nap, rather than catching up on the housework etc. Not a long term solution obviously, but that bit of extra sleep could make all the difference. You might find yourself loading the washing machine during the night, and living in a bit of a tip otherwise, but at least you might feel a bit better. Good luck.
    Great minds and all that.
That's exactly what I've decided to do.
Chances are I'll be awake most of the night anyway, so might as well sleep during the day.

Evening all.  Just showered after doing battle with a particularly gruesome bed. It's by next door's beech hedge which she had cut in the week, so lots of cut branches on my side and it forced me to trim the sides my side too.  But that bed needed sorting anyway - lots of nettles, brambles and g.elder from next door (mind you - it may have got there from my side originally!) and puzzling over just what to do with that bed.  Also took photos of the 2 dahlias and the hemerocallis that have bloomed and proved themselves to be not at all what I ordered so have emailed those and will await what the nurseries have to say - 3 different ones.  Bit if rotten luck there I think.  Also - I was brave! The front hedge really needed trimming. OH cannot work the electric hedge trimmer as he has a gammy hand so I was up the ladder with it.  I don't mind the hedge trimmer - like it in fact - but I don't like being up high - even if it is just a couple of steps.  Still, got it done.  Was too late to get next door's hedge trimmer people to do mine - they were packing up before I realised they were there.  Managed it last year!
Thinking of you @Hostafan1.  Stressful times.
Hope all still going swimmingly @D0rdogne_Damsel.  Once when I was working we held some kind of reception which the MD deemed was going on a bit too long - so he got the hoover out and started vacuuming!  Worth a try to shoo out the day shift before the evening shift arrives?

    Afternoon folks,
We're back home after a very enjoyable but tiring 2 nighter in Hampshire. Was very lucky with the weather at our friends Golden Wedding anniversary party at the local Rugby club so we were all able to sit outside in the sunshine yesterday. Noisy nights in the hotel though (in the centre of town) meant we haven't had much sleep either. Why do boy racers with broken exhausts on their cars think it's cool to go round and round late at night? No police in sight.
Braved the A303 today to get home which wasn't as bad as expected, apart from an absolute idiot in a Maserati in front of us past Stonehenge (queues in both directions as usual), who then pulled suddenly into a layby and did a U turn, stopping the traffic and presumably went back for another look!  We were gobsmacked! We've got the incident on our dashcam and I'm very temped to put it on Facebook.
Did a smallish detour  near home to ride on a special steam train with a display of Austin cars from our club but boo hoo, they'd sold out of the cream teas by then. Probably just as well as we've eaten well lately.

Hope Hostafan can get a few naps in and WonkyWomble's jerk chicken turns out okay. Her stepson would tower over me. My ex boss was 6ft 4 and I thought that was tall.
    Enjoy your Sunday evening all.

We had a neighbour, known as Big Adam , who was 7ft tall. Bless'im .
the bus used to stop opposite our house and I used to wait to watch him get on the bus when he was waiting. He had to bend double to walk to a seat.
All his clothes had to be made for him and he suffered endless teasing and stupic comments like " wow, you're tall"  and " is it cold up there". Clearly nobody else had ever thought of these hysterical one liners. NOT

That link did work, thanks, @Dovefromabove.

The day got warmer. We went to Peter Beales, OH sat on a bench in the sun in the rose garden, had a snooze, and I searched for a plant for a dry, difficult area under a tree. Bought a Euonymus "Emerald Gaiety' and a Ceratostigma plumbaginoides to go in front of it. Also bought a Gaura "RosyJane" for the long border.

Then we went to a very old pub in Wymonden for a beer in their garden.

Didyw, I’m afraid I initially thought of Tracey Emin, rather than hoiking out brambles and nettles! Brain not in gear today!

@Hostafan1 hubby has 38 inch inside leg, he's not fat though,  all clothes come from site called 2tall.com.  Real pain and yes the jokes aren't funny,  doesn't help that he has the same name as a certain soul legend so the lady in the bank thinks she's funny when she asks if he feels good/ sex machine! 🙄
Glad you got a snooze,  that's the best way,  when your not needed,  take the time for yourself x

@Lizzie27 glad the mini break was enjoyable,  drivers....I always assume everyone is an idiot and stay well clear!
Jerk chicken was fabulous 👌 thanks full bellies all round!

@Allotment Boy.... they bought the tubs back!!!! I nearly fainted! Didn't know I had so many!! Took some away again too! 😉

Like a certain @Dovefromabove, I'm now gonna collapse on the sofa and binge watch Detectorists! 😊bliss
    Have a great evening all

Sounds like a perfect evening, WonkyWomble. Detectorists is one of the cleverest, and most charming series I’ve ever watched. A real masterpiece, brilliantly understated.
    Enjoy!
