We've had a great day visiting people's gardens, but feet are tired now. Car said it was between 28Β° and 30Β°. I was quite comfortable, it's when it's 35Β° I hate it.

We saw 7 gardens over 2 hours before lunch, then had lunch in the village pub. The outside tables were full so we sat in the restaurant where it was cool, looking out at a bowl's tournament on the bowling green next to the pub. I had Lasagne and salad and OH had fish and chips. Then we saw 3 more gardens on our way back to the car. There were 19 but not enough time to see all of them. They were all pretty and beautifully kept. I saw a lovely cast iron parasol base behind a garden shed. When I admired it the garden owner gave it to me as he didn't want it, but I gave him a contribution for his charity, Lifeboats.

What lovely pictures TBird and Busy. My leaf cutter bees have taken a liking to my Cercis and its leaves now have beautifully scalloped edges. I need to sort out the bee house as it has not weathered well but I'll leave it until the winter and keep my fingers crossed it holds out until then. Busy the gardens you have sent us the pictures from are really pretty. The rose in the last picture has such a dainty growth habit.

    Beautiful photos T'bird and Bussy.

Rosie, sorry to hear that it's so hot in your bedroom. Rain brought major drop in temperatures here, so it will be easy to sleep after many days.

LB, it's is too early to speak about some huge harvest, but I have some other veggies which are ready.
Here are my first french beans.

Ante, I could just eat those now. With lots of melted butter on them.
Ruby, I hope that you aren't struggling with your breathing. I hope that you sleep well. Good night to you.

Rubee, those white beans are in fact yellow, just on this photo are little bit pale. Variety is Bergold dwarf french bean.

LB, 🀣. We had them yesterday for lunch, with butter of course.

Hazel, I'll send you rain little bit later. I need those water and freshness in the air. I'm stuffed with temperatures over 35.

Ante, I call those 'squeaky beans' because they 'squeak' on your teeth when you eat them. Very delicious.
