I hear people keep saying that chrysanthemums are due for a big come back any tme soon. Those I do have nasty connotations with. Dahlias, none at all. I realise I dislike (now) flowers that tend to turn up in petrol station bunches - like chrysanths, alstroemeria and carnations. They seem like an after thought. But it's hardly fair on the plants.

That is lovely, I have grown Daucus carota before think I will grow again the red tuft made me smile! I wonder if it serves a purpose, perhaps it attracts insects.

I love the cat's pee smell of chrysanthemums. It smells fresh and green to me. Sauvignon Blanc apparently has a cat's pee smell too. Not that I've noticed but I am partial😉

I know someone who says that blackcurrant sage smells of cat pee to her and she loves it. I can't imagine loving the smell of cat pee. But then people love the savour of ammonia (urine) in French soft cheese. To me it's all toilets.

Blackcurrant smells of cat's pee. But in a bad way. I can only tolerate it when I have a cold - blackcurrant sweets.
Chrysanthemums have a hint, but there's other green layers.
I find the smell of blue cheese unpleasant but I get past it to the taste. A glass of port helps.

I have grown Daucus carota before - it is very photogenic!

Thanks for the Cordyline flower photos - mine are much too high up to see in any detail, and by the time they fall down they're all dried up. Beautiful.

I look close-up all the time - have to be reminded to look at the whole picture!
This week I've really enjoyed Echinops, Alchemilla mollis, Pelargonium tomentosum, Sempervivum and Crocosmia buds.

Ha ha! I took another photo yesterday!

    Endlessly fascinating ❤️
