I've got an early morning visitor!
Hubby has managed to get out of the care home and find his way back here. All 12 miles .
    I'm beyond livid.

Well, on the one hand well done hubby for being resourceful but on the other I too would be incandescent.  How does that happen and what sort of "care" are they giving?

What!?!?!?!?  @Hostafan1   Notify the police and social services immediately!!!!

That should be cause for a Serious Case Review, given his recent history ... he's incredibly vulnerable!!!

Has no one from the care home been in touch to say he's missing?!!! Have they even noticed?

Is it not secure?  My late parent's care home had secure keypad entry only.

Has Deprivation of Liberty Paperwork been completed ?... social worker should be involved with that.

Kick up the biggest stink you can .......... I'd use the press to do it too.

You also need to notify the CQC https://www.cqc.org.uk/contact-us

    Hi all

I know it is very serious @Hostafan1, but I admire his determination. Do you have any idea how he managed to get 12 miles?

... What's a muntjac doing round your way @Dovefromabove?  Hope all your plants are un-nibbled....
Although technically we're part of Norwich, this 'village' is surrounded by woodland, marsh and golf course on three sides ... we often see munjtac wandering past in the wee small hours but they don't seem interested in our front garden plants and can't get into the back ... when OH worked at the farm shop further into the city he was startled by a muntjac running towards the automatic doors which were triggered to open outwards and the muntjac collided with them ... a real hard crash ... but after a moment's stunned silence it dashed off across the car park towards the  local school sports ground.   There are quite a few 'green pathways' into the city and they sometimes make their way right into the city centre https://www.edp24.co.uk/news/man-rescues-distressed-muntjac-deer-norwich-8014266
