    Hi all

    Thoughts are with you @Hostafan1

Moira was supposed to be coming home today, having organised for her Mum to go into respite care for 2 weeks, whilst the family tried to sort out new carers to come into her home. This morning the transport turned up, but her Mum refused to go.
Moira is distraught, she has had a terrible week with her Mum. I need to see how easy it would be for me to get there by train, as there is no way I am up to driving that distance at the moment.

Hugs to you both @punkdoc ... parents eh?  Just remind Moira that while we want to get things perfect for our loved ones, doing our best is the best that we can do, and all that our parents can ask of us.  xx

@Hostafan1 ((hugs)) for you too ....... don't be afraid to explain to the care staff about the videos and other stuff that you think might help him settle ... familiar routines, objects etc.  I hope he's got ornaments, cushions, other things from home, in his room.  I was amazed at how willing my parents' carers were to find ways to help them settle and feel 'at home'.  As they explained to me, if we can help them feel settled, our lives are easier, so it helps us even if it's a bit more work initially.
Discovering Pa's penchant for Brown Sauce was a huge help in getting him to enjoy his meals, and ensuring there was a bottle available on his table was such an easy thing for them to do.

    So much cooler!

I hadn’t even thought that hubby might have to isolate @Hostafan1. a. how can they do that ‘properly’ when the staff will be attending to him? b. I don’t that it is fair bearing in mind his condition. I hope he could be allowed to go outside for some fresh air?

@punkdoc - my heart goes out to you and your wife.

    Take care everyone.

    Hello all.

Sending sympathy to @Hostafan1 and @punkdoc. 14 days seems a long time to isolate.

It's grey, cool and breezy here, no rain. Back in jeans and a long sleeved top. Summer dresses didn't last long.

We've been to the monthly farmers market at the village hall. They serve breakfast there too so I had a bacon roll and OH had cheese straws, washed down with coffee. I bought a lovely looking loaf of bread, some veg, some Florentines, steak, lamb and mint burgers and 3 plants. I have a place for the tall red helenium, but where am I going to put the short blue aster and the pink lychnis chalcedonica? But 3 decent plants for £10 wasn't bad D

Back in trousers and a cardigan for a trip to Sainsbury’s this morning. I feel that I tempted fate yesterday, looking in the wardrobe for some lightweight tops, I came across three summer dresses I’d forgotten I had! They haven’t been worn since the summer of 2019, as we didn’t go out much last year. Won’t get worn this year either unless it warms up again. Still, they’ll be ready for next year! Don’t have to worry about them going out of date. I shop for my shape and height, so whatever the fashion pundits might like to preach, I’m never going to suit short skirts, bare shoulders or skinny jeans!
