Morning SGL, the forecast is quite bleak for the whole of this weekend isn't it? Could be shower dodging but at least, for those who enjoy it, we have the tennis and the football to take up a lot of that housebound time. Hope you get good news later about the test.
p.s. I must fit in the rugby too.

Thank you LB hopefully won't have to wait too long 🤞
Won't be cutting the grass today, the heavens have just opened and its absolutely pouring down. Might be able to get the dead heading done at some point.

That is another job I need to do SGL. Its doubly horrid dead heading when everywhere is sodden though and the flowers stick everywhere.

Morning all. Spent yesterday with a paint brush 'making good' round the recent building works in the sitting room. The new bifolds are lovely and make the room lighter. They also frame the garden which, unfortunately, is looking a bit sorry for itself after a combination of our absence and recent rains. Really need to get out there and do some dead heading and hacking back.

Not today though. Today we're off to a wedding - my niece's. Lovely people but it's a big do at a posh venue (Holkham Hall) and we all know I don't really 'do' dressing up. Not  really our sort of thing but it will be nice to see the family and, fortunately, it's not too warm.

All trussed up in tights and magic knickers is not a good combination when it's hot!
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down

Hello Chive, RosieBB, T'Bird and Biglad. I've just come in after 2 hours in the garden. I am lathered and bushed and covered in blackfly. I have been continuing the 30+ year fight against the crocosmia. Futile I suspect. Time for a cuppa methinks.
Chive, you can get two days off - if you've been good!
RosieBB, I was cold for a while late yesterday afternoon. Not so bad now but a friend of mine who lives up the road from me says they are having a steady downpour so I'm glad to have got some things done in the garden.
T'Bird, your cosmetic tasks on your house sound wonderful (sshh! don't let Hazel know you've been painting). On one of my family holidays to Norfolk we visited Holkham Hall. It is absolutely spectacular. I'm sure you and your OH will have a wonderful time. I have to 'fess up that I am not a 'dressing up' kind of person either (unless its for one of our theme nights on a family holiday). I'm happiest in either my gardening scruffs as I call them, or if I am trying to be a bit smarter - jeans . You can never have too many pairs of jeans in my view.
Biglad - it may be one on its own at the moment but it is a beauty! I actually had a few of my wild strawberries with my cereal this morning. All of them could have sat happily on a £2 coin but the flavour is stupendous - like popping candy in your mouth.

    Good morning all.
    Enjoy the wedding @Topbird.
I wears jeans most of the time, except if we get a real summer's day when I wear a dress. Looking forward to wearing a dress!

I've had 2 quite good nights in a row, thank goodness. I was becoming exhausted because of the wretched cockerel waking me up between 3 and 4am. This morning I went to see NDN x2 because he has a very big L shaped garden that goes behind our garden, which is where the dratted bird seems to be. Apparently someone dumped 6 cockerels up the lane by the pub and they were running around in people's gardens driving them nuts. An animal charity was called who managed to catch some of them. This one ended up in neighbour's garden but he doesn't want it and can't catch it. He had 2 chickens. Cockerel has fallen in love with one of his chickens and has killed the other chicken. Neighbour would like to get rid of the bird and buy 2 more chickens, but he doesn't want them breeding and producing more cockerels. He's going to call the animal charity again and find a net on a stick.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

Afternoon All, sat under cover on the patio listening to the patter of rain & birdsong it’s rather lovely,
Bluebells It was nice that you were able to go with your dad yesterday, I hope all went ok with his ECG.
    Biglad Good looking strawberry 🍓
Topbird Bifold doors sound a very nice addition to your home, have a lovely time at your nieces wedding hope the weather is kind for the photos,
LB I’m (nearly) always good 😇😉 Crocosmia is a force to be reckoned with, I like the flowers but it does want to take over. I love my jeans so versatile,
Busy Glad you’ve managed a couple of good nights, that Cockerel is creating such a nuisance the neighbour must be most annoyed at all the upset it has caused.
    Have a nice afternoon everyone.
