Morning Dove. We had a very weird mist here early last evening. It lay like a blanket in the field. Bit reminiscent of James Herbert's book. I can empathise with the knitting with dark wool too. I avoid knitting in the evenings when the light is going.
Busy, I'd not waste the brandy on the cockerel, drink it yourself and it should help you get to sleep and not hear the rowdy bird. I was a bit sad to hear that it had killed one of your neighbour's two chickens. I didn't realise that they did that, thinking that they liked to have a flock of hens to lord it over. Maybe she gave him the chicken equivalent of the elbow.

Some cockerels are just too ‘rough’ when paying their attentions, but that’s not likely to have killed a hen although they can be hurt by the cockerels Spurs.
What’s probably happened is that without a cockerel in the flock one of the hens will have assumed the dominant role … and will have seen the new cockerel as a challenger … they will have fought but a hen doesn’t have spurs like a cockerel so can’t inflict the damage that he can.

Morning everyone, we have a big round yellow thing in the sky this morning. Hope it stays.
We often get a thick early morning  mist/fog over the back of the garden and field during the summer, it then turns into a beautiful sunny day. Haven't had that for awhile 😂
I bet all the men can't wait for tonight so they can watch the football.
    Have a lovely day everyone.

    Morning all,

On patrol before 5am this morning :o Removed a few Cyrils, did a spot of weeding and, of course, tallied up the latest feline deposits. Removed 5 different ones a couple of days ago. There are 3 fresh ones this morning :( I don't know about Jewel Garden. Our back garden is currently known as Turdistan!

    Sunshine @star gaze lily? I'm a realist not a dreamer ;)

No irritating instruments needed here, @Ladybird4 :D I'll be watching in relative calm on my own :)

Good Morning LB, Dove, SGL, Biglad & Rubee and all to follow,
LB Are you off to see your rellies today? If so have a lovely catch up, hope they enjoyed their holiday. I spotted my Passion flower was in bloom again, has yours started?
Dove That sounds a very intricate knit, the colour choice of wool is lovely it’s going to make a pretty top. I can fully understand the difficulties with eyesight, nothing is clear to me anymore without my specs on 🤓
SGL Good to hear the sun has put in an appearance for you at last, hope you’ll be able to get outdoors,
Biglad I don’t imagine our neighbourhood will be calmly watching later 🥴
Rubee What a lovely memory, must have been quite something to see that happen, have a good day,
Looks to be a bright start, hope to get in the garden today.
    Enjoy your day everyone.

Morning all. You're all very chatty for 8am on a Sunday. Do you mind keeping it down a bit? some of us had a late night and the vino was flowing freely so....

Seriously though yesterday was lovely - terrific location and lots of very happy people. So many issues (Covid) about whether or not this wedding could happen as planned but, in the end, only a few minor tweaks were required.

OH was on water so he drove home and this morning was up at 7am to go to his mate's so they can muck around with karts all day. I have some clearing up to do then I need to put the sitting room back together.

Your knitting sounds complicated Dove - definitely better done in the summer when there are maximum hours of daylight.

Rubee - that walk sounded magical. There was a low mist as we drove out through the estate last night. Large groups of deer were grazing, unpeturbed by the van as we passed by. That was rather lovely too.

Chive and SGL it's a sunny start here as well - but there might be a bit of wet stuff later on. Brother is hosting a hog roast for the bride and groom and guests staying over so I hope it stays dry for them on the N Norfolk coast.

Biglad - you were up early - couldn't you sleep? I'll be joining you watching the match on my own.
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down

Good morning all, busy day at work yesterday and we ended up working over but as it was a little one needing steroids I didn’t mind staying an extra ten minutes. Managed to get home in time for a quick shower and had a great evening with friends.
Putting dining room back together today and a few other jobs.
Sounds like the wedding went well @Topbird, so pleased for you. Fiancé said his was a success too.
    Enjoy your Sunday everyone

Topbird :)  I have a friend from the Foodie Forum visiting a relative in Cromer this weekend ... she arranges lots of countryside walks etc 'in real life' and seems to have some sort of sway with the weather gods ... she said she's arranged fine weather for the North Norfolk coast today, and By Jove!  I think she's done it  B)
