@Chivetalking they sounds very relaxing sitting outside in the shelter of the rain. The rain stopped for awhile here and I managed to get out in the garden and do the dead heading at the front. The grass looks very lush and green, just needs a cut. But will need to dry out first. Still waiting for the results of Poppets covid test. They said it would be by lunch time. 😕
Busy I think the animal charity is the only way forward. Maybe you’ll all get some sleep very soon. Topbird have a lovely time and when it’s all over you’ll be back home to slide into your comfy clothes. Biglad an appetising strawberry, more of them to follow. LB they are good for breakfast. You have timed your gardening well. The match is on a tie break for the second set and Pliskova improving. Chive it’s good to listen to the litter pat of the rain, quite calming. Lily I still have my fingers crossed for poppet.
Afternoon all, I've been in the garden all day, it's hot and humid here and the sky keeps threatening rain but non so far. Lots of cutting back, deadheading and tying in done. Just having a cuppa before I go back out and clear up the debris. Have spent a lot of time this week looking after grandchildren and next week will be the same but then it's the school holidays so things should get better. Firstborn will be off to Menorca for three weeks and Secondborn is going for a week in a caravan but not until later in August. Hope you are OK Hazel.
Afternoon Yvie. Gosh you have been busy. I have just finished watching the Ladies Final - what a cracking match too. About 10 minutes ago the skies opened here and there is now torrential rain falling. I won't need to water today! I'm so glad that as well as dead heading and weeding this morning I got all the bird feeders filled again - only have to venture forth to lock up the garage. It sounds so nice, hearing abour peoples' holiday plans.
Cacoethes: An irresistible urge to do something inadvisable
We've taken another big back of prunings to the recycling, the neighbours' shrubs keep growing into the drive on either side. Could only park cars behind each other, now there is enough room to park side by side. I bought 2 bags of compost there too. Hope it isn't full of weed roots.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
