Super half time score 26-3. It looks lovely in Twickenham, wish I could say the same for up here. I did manage to get my Stachys seedlings pricked out though before the rugby started. I've got 8 decent sized plants and now I've got to find some spaces for them once they have grown on. RosieBB I love your pink rose and oh yum fresh strawberries for brekkie! Cherry tart sounds very yummy too Chive. Hazel, would a gel bike saddle be any more comfortable for you? How nice to be able to get out and cycle though. You are very lucky with your weather today.

Hazel, my Bestie has had real problems with growing her cosmos too - you are not alone.
Final score England 43 - 29 USA. Exciting match to watch but England got a wee bit slapdash with their defence in the second half.

  • Hazel yes the rose is in my garden.  LB great result with the Rugby.  I thoroughly enjoyed it.  Chive the rose was a bargain reduced to £2.99 some years ago.
  • Hazel well done on your bike ride, hope the muscles soon feel better.

The NGS garden was lovely. We were lucky, the sun came out when we arrived and it didn't rain until we started loading OH's mobility scooter into the car to go home. We had quiche and salad for lunch there and delicious moist orange cake. The garden was about an acre and there were lots of perennials, roses and clematis.

I've posted some photos on the Garden Visits thread.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

I think I am about to have a storm. It is so dark here I may have to put my lights on.
p.s. update - its absolutely hissing down. I hope @Biglad has finished his running around the field duties.

    Evening all,

It's threatened, we had a few spots, that muggy pre-storm feel. Actual rainfall this afternoon? Negligible. Has east Lancashire been moved without me noticing? Atmosphere like a tropical rainforest, rainfall like a desert :o

I definitely could've done with something cooling between 3pm and 4.45pm!

I've made tea and am now in the comfy armchair watching Antiques Roadshow. Wouldn't have thought I'll be awake for much longer ;)

I'm watching that too Biglad. There have been some awful but valuable things on tonight.
