@Chivetalking there'll definitely be a big sliced onion in there and possibly a good handful of sage leaves (I like sage with courgette) … maybe some we chives too … we eat lots of chives 😃
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Tonight's meal plan has changed, duck is now for tomorrow. OH suggested going to a lighting shop near Norwich to buy me a standard light to read by when I'm on the sofa. The old one won't work anymore. When we'd done that he offered to take me out to lunch in a pub in a market town. They were doing Italian food, so we had fresh pasta with their home made basil and tomato sauce and meatballs. It will be a light snack this evening.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
All this lovely food talk! It was dry enough to eat lunch in the garden luckily though raining now. Had rather a lot of wine with lunch so feeling sleepy but lovely to see my little boy (6 foot tall and 13stone but still my baby) Early night I think
Afternoon all, Hope Poppet is having a lovely birthday. Jonah has to have glasses and they are picking them up tomorrow, he's quite excited, his mum isn't. Fed all the pots and veg this morning and then got to grips with unmentionables including lots of things in Lilly's TV. Did anyone watch the young English girl Emma Raducanu at Wimbledon? She was amazing. One of the best matches I've seen in ages, a real star in the making. Watching Norrie at the moment but Federer is giving him a bit of a tennis lesson.
Afternoon all. Well its heaved it down most of today so I had to work in the garage planting stuff up. Hazel, I think that was such a cute idea pretending you couldn't see the fairy. I bet 23 was mesmerised. I bet SGL and her OH will be nicely tired too after the birthday celebrations. Debs, I bet you had a wonderful catch up with your 'baby'. Is it a year since he was poorly? Yvie, I watched that match. Isn't Emma a star? I thought she played exceptionally well and maintained her 'calm' under pressure. I would love to see a match between her and Coco Gauff. I was resigned to Cam being beaten in 3 sets but then he surprised me by winning the third set. Well done him!
Cacoethes: An irresistible urge to do something inadvisable
Slight change to the 60-70% chance of hourly rain all afternoon. Actually completely dry. Thunderstorms forecast. Actually blue sky and sunshine. Couldn't have been more wrong!
Went for a short run and now back for a bit of tennis and the football double-header
