Well we are very late getting to bed. The bike race didn’t finish until after 1 .30 am, and then showers and bed. There were two awful crashes. The first one was caused by a bystander holding a large sign and it was taking up some of the road, so the riders collided with it. 😡.  The second crash was much worse but I’m not sure what caused it. Fromie was hurt yet again, as well as many other riders.

Well, after all that excitement it’s going to be hard to settle to sleep. I’m also not sure how the tension in my knitting fared. I’ll have to check in daylight.

    night all.

My back wasn't aching this afternoon so I've weeded the laurel bed. Everything has grown since last year but 3 plants and the foxgloves have died. Last year they were tiny mail order plants. An Alchemilla Mollis had seeded itself so I planted that and I will buy some plants on Tuesday.

    Evening.

Was mostly cloudy with some sunny spells today - had a good potter in garden.
Found a frog/toad* in the poly house by the tomatoes! They must like the warm, damp conditions in there.

I tripped over one of the ropes securing the poly house earlier (a expecting a bruise on my upper thigh) and just now I turned round in kitchen to point at something and smacked my hand on worktop edge (definitely expecting a bruise). Hoping my gin will take the edge off.

Hope you’ve had a good Saturday. Your open garden sounds exciting @didyw - I hope it’s s fine day so you have a good turnout.

*I’ve researched frog versus toad identification but still undecided. Will try to snap a pic.

Glad your back feels better @Busy-Lizzie. I've just pottered in the afternoon, planting small verbenas, weeding, etc but also picked some strawberries and raspberries which we've just eaten with icecream for a pud.
We went into town this morning to our favourite 'proper' furniture store and bought a new oak coffee table. Took a couple of hours and two visits (back home to check measurements) to decide, quite a wide choice but we're restricted as to size. Only niggle is that it may be a 8-10 week wait for delivery. It was in their sale and we got an extra £25 off so bargain!
It's a lovely evening out there now.

    Evening all,

It's been a lovely day here. Well apart from the Wales result and more cat crap in the front garden :(

I finally finished the second big, square, deep planter and put my Blueberry Aurora in there. Not the ideal time to be shifting it I'd imagine but, hey ho, it needed upgrading at some point.

Pepperoni pizza, cold beverage and watching the Italians now :)

Evening @Biglad   Same menu here - we are watching it in Italian as my OH is Italian.  Pizza, vino rosso pecorino.

@AuntyRach  Sounds like me as my middle name is "clumsy" !!  Managed to spill a full glass of vino rosso tonight - waving at the Austrians!!   Vaii Italia!!  Andare!!

The frog/toad just appeared when I moved a pot forwards so not sure if he jumped or walked there. I will investigate in the morning (or if I do a slug mission later) and use your method @Hostafan1. My 7 year old niece told me if it’s green it’s a frog, and brown is a toad 😂.

Forgot to say, I bought a lovely Salvia in the orange SM today - ‘love and wishes’, purple flowers.

    Night folks.

Italy have deserved the win @tui34 but it could've been very different if Arnoutovic had kept his big toe onside ;)
