Explanation of Marti Pellow: Thanks to Biglad he reminded us all last week (ish) about Marti Pellow and the name of his group - Wet Wet Wet. I liked him using that description of the weather so I pinched it (sorry Biglad).
Busy-Lizzie, I'm sorry to hear that the wandering tiles have held up your project, and prevented you from having help from your son in replacing the furniture. Don't even think about doing it on your own. You need to be fit and able for your possible trip to Norfolk next month. I feel your frustration though.
I hope Biglad that you are now enjoying your KFC. The weather has not been kind today but I did get my potatoes planted before the storm.
Chive my lilac is looking stunning and smells divine but it is easily overtaken in terms of scent by my bird cherry which has the most intoxicating scent ever. I will take a picture for tomorrow. I collected a couple of little cherries last year before the birds got them and left them in the fridge for 4 months. Two of them germinated and I now have them in a pot ready to go into the garden.
p.s. I meant to say that I was sorry that your visiting plans had to be changed Hazel. Such a shame for you.

Aahh yes @Ladybird4 Wet wet wet 🤦🏻‍♀️😂
@Songbird-1 so sorry to hear your granddaughter has to stay home again. Such a shame you couldn't see your daughter.

I've been meaning to ask you @Chivetalking.....think it was you that had a lovely blue pot with ferns and I think Heuchera. I just wondered if you knew which ferns they were please.

Evening all - made it to Northumberland in one piece and it's a pleasant sunny evening. Too cold to sit outside though.

Sorry to hear about your granddaughter Hazel. Hopefully, she'll be fine.

Take it easy SGL - no need to be rushing about like Big Lad!

Frustrating for you with those tiles BL. Is it another bank holiday in France? Didn't you just have one at the weekend? I would find all those little breaks in the working week very irritating to work with. Can never get my head round those 2hr closures for lunch either - although I do enjoy a nice long lazy lunch at a village bistro as much as the next (wo)man 😎

Chive & LB - my neighbour has really rich purple lilac that smells wonderful. I keep threatening to plant one but am concerned it might sucker all over the place - I read that could be a problem. Have either of you had a problem with that?
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down

    Evening all,

Got home just before 9. I'm a tad fatigued I have to confess. Feet up and watching the football with a nice, cold beverage :)

I managed to keep to my schedule, drop off everything that I'd been asked to and picked up another two planters to paint and put lining in. I got all 3 of my sister's lawns mowed just before it started getting a bit Marti Pellow (I don't mind at all @Ladybird4 - glad you find it amusing). However, once I'd put the lawnmower back in the garage it was sunny again. Four hours later the garden waste bin was nearly full, the weed (and snail population) had been dramatically reduced and several plants had got a much needed haircut. I think it rained a lot more at home than over t'other side of the Pennines today.

I've also got half a dozen cuttings as payment ;)

When I was dropping off a planter with the MIL, we inevitably got talking about her small garden and I was introduced to her Lonicera, which is rampant. I'm going to have to read up and go back to sort it out. Needs a new pot as well. The one it was in looks too small but has cracked open over the winter so it more out than in now :o

Evening all. I've just been watching the Great British Sewing Bee programme. Hazel my chives have all got little flower buds and I'm waiting for them to open. I'll take a pic soon - I'm out tomorrow. T'Bird, glad to hear you've both arrived safely. Regarding the lilac, mine has been in years and has never suckered at all.
Glad you survived your hectic schedule Biglad. I am now going to sign out. Keep warm T'Bird. See you all tomorrow.

    Evening everyone,
LB Your bird cherry sounds lovely, looking forward to seeing a picture. Great that you’ve grown two more plants from the cherries,
@Songbird-1Sorry to hear that your visit was unable to happen today and your granddaughter is Isolating again, she has been so unlucky, I hope she is ok. Sounds like some nice purchases made today, hope you sleep well tonight,
@star gaze lily I still have the label for the fern so I’ll confirm the name for you tomorrow, the Heuchera was called Plum Pudding (I can remember desserts 😋) but unfortunately that fell victim to the VWs. I hope you get a good rest tonight,
Topbird Glad you’ve arrived safely and have had a pleasant 1st evening. Our Lilac did throw up suckers as a young shrub, they only appeared around the main trunk not elsewhere. Now it’s been in a good many years it’s just kept to a size that suits the garden.
Biglad That was a full day, hope you sleep well and recharge your batteries ready to tackle the lonicera,
    Goodnight everyone.

Aww, that's very kind Chive, thank you.  I have quite a few Heuchera, but have no idea which ones. Some could be Plum pudding, the others have lighter leaves.  I'd also like a large fern to go by the oak tree as well as a couple of smaller ones.
Glad you arrived safely @Topbird. Hope you've had a lovely evening.
@Biglad what a busy day you've had. Bet you sleep well tonight.

Night night everyone, hope you all get a good night's sleep. Sweet dreams
