Very strange occurrence this morning there is a glowing orange orb in the sky and the sky itself has changed colour! It’s a pale blue not the usual grey. Birds are singing and there are bees buzzing but strangest of all there is no water falling from the sky. I am wondering now if I was too quick to order that “ build your own ark in 20days” kit?

    Morning everyone.
When I posted last night, Chive, Ruby and Hazel weren't there🤔
@debs64 I'll have the ark please, its absolutely pouring down here. Really hammering on the windows 😩  Only good thing the garden looks a lush green. Come on summer, please arrive soon.
Have a lovely day with your family @Ladybird4 hope you get some nice weather.
Time for a cup of tea, anyone fancy a cup ☕☕☕

Morning all.  I was hoping to get into the garden today. The sun is shining at the moment but the weatherman says rain at 11 o'clock and thunderstorms between 3 and 4. I think I might be playing garden hokey kokey

    Morning all,

Don't worry, @debs64. Marti Pellow will be back later ;)

It does look glorious here at the moment but, as elsewhere, the forecast for this afternoon isn't good.

Apparently there's another match on Tuesday evening @Pauline 7  🤞🤞
Well we had beautiful blue skies and sunshine for about 20 minutes, but now it's absolutely hammering down and it's so dark we have the lights on. Dread to think what its doing to my sweet peas 🤦🏻‍♀️
Kettles on @Chivetalking and anyone else who wants one ☕☕

  • I found a snail on the carpet this morning.  I put a marigold on and as I picked him up he rolled up in his shell and I put him outside.  He must have crawled up the door and dropped down when I went out to the bin.  Lily it poured it down here yesterday too.

Still no rain and I planned my day around it. What an idiot to trust the weather forecast! When will I learn :(

I was contemplating the 'No mow May' thing that seems to be all the rage. Only problem is that our front garden currently has very little in it - small lawn with 2 empty borders (bar a couple of rose bushes and clumps of the bluebells that I haven't managed to remove yet). In comparison to some of the immaculate gardens of our neighbours, I think a 'wildlife haven' would only be viewed as 'an eyesore'. The OH also prefers the freshly mown look.

I'm going to leave the back lawn though. It is bigger and has a wider variety of weeds/wildflowers so makes sense :)

Afties all. Had a nice, sunny time with the rellies but just as I was getting to the motorway junction near me it started to rain. It dried up fairly quickly so I have been able to get work done in the greenhouse. Tomorrow I hope it is another day like today because I must crack on with starting on the new border.
Biglad, I got rid of all my grass some years ago but for 30 years I have been trying to get rid of those weedy Spanish bluebells. Maybe I should just give up now. I'm not averse to the blue flowers which do look rather lovely but the horrid floppy leaves once the flowers are done do become a bit of an eyesore. Did you catch that snippet on the news about someone in West Yorkshire who woke up to find several bullocks in his front garden, munching everything in sight. Apparently they had escaped from their field. I thought about you and the Shauns. Given a choice, I'd go for the Shauns!
