it was fine. Maybe I left the foil on too long, but the skin didn't colour up so well, but it was beautifully moist and, if I say so myself, perfectly cooked
We're back from our trip to meet up with all my siblings, a very emotional reunion indeed, just lovely to see them all after so long and lots of hugs all round. Unfortunately my younger brother is struggling with severe heart failure plus sleep apnoea so it was doubly precious to see him again. I'm praying he'll survive another year, only just turned 70.
The journey up was horrendous, gale force winds and very heavy rain with lots of flooded roads. Journey back was better except for one brief cloudburst and a diversion because of an RTA by the look of it in the middle of Moreton in the Marsh. Do hope nobody was severely injured, always a very sobering happening.
I've learnt that with my electric double oven that cakes bake much better in the smaller top oven without the fan - not that I cook many, too fattening.
Hey @Hostafan1 I think we can conclude from your unanswered question that @Dovefromabove/ Mum has fallen asleep on the sofa after an exciting day getting her new car! 😀😉 Well done with the chicken! I had every faith in you! X
A better day weather wise here than expected but still some very heavy showers when they came and still quite cold. Late afternoon got a bit warmer and it is supposed to be a bit warmer tomorrow. I have given up with the sails for the moment, they can take the odd shower, but these heavy downpours just mean they fill with water and sag badly. I hunted out an old marquee from the garage and we put that up. It worked a bit better, but although it does have sides we are not allowed to use them because of Covid regulations, a little bit of shelter but not much more than that. Hopefully warmer next week.
We did have two nice French chaps in for lunch who under normal circumstances would never have eaten in a place like ours, but as so many restaurants are still closed they came in. They were very surprised at our menu, said they really enjoyed their lunch and would definitely be back again. If nothing else our fight with the weather has found us some new custom for the future and hopefully they'll be telling their colleagues.
Hope you liked the car @Dovefromabove, glad you enjoyed the chicken @Hostafan1 even if lacked 'finesse'. @punkdoc I am sorry to hear that your sister's view on things differs from your own, but I think letting it go rather causing an upset is the best for everyone and very sensible on your part. I do hope the weather is kind for your birthday and you are able to enjoy the day a bit. All very sensitive times at the moment. Nice to hear about your happy reunion with siblings @Lizzie27, shame about the RTA another poor soul (s) suffering somewhere this evening.
Off to bed now as we have to do we did today again tomorrow. I did manage a walk around the garden this evening and it's all ok despite the rain, some sunshine would do it the world of good though, the poor new little plants haven't grown very much, all their energy has gone into staying upright I think.
Good night all, probably nearly good morning to @Pat E.

Yes DD, it’s morning. Breakfast has been had and I’m now thinking about how I might spend my day. 😁. Love the story and photo of the two blokes having their lunch.
All the grass this morning was sticking up with icy spikes instead of green spiky leaves. I notice it’s all melted now though. No sign of our trio of Roos who no doubt found a spot under cover somewhere.

A lovely day. Shame I had to waste good gardening weather by driving 50 miles to ruin a game of football and then drive back again
