Lovely selection @Tack. Utopia’s foliage is sparkling, another Delbard I see. I’m hoping CdeP is one of those roses that just takes time to come into it’s own, not been very healthy for me either.
It’s been 35c here today, new Super Trouper is not coping very well when direct sun hits it, the first is above the parapet and the second lower down and shaded by other plants:
Mountainous Northern Catalunya, Spain. Hot summers, cold winters.
I'm surprised some of you are not getting much from Chartreuse de Parme, I thought it was a knock out scent from the start... as a shapely rose though, it left something to be desired.. but that's HT's..
I like the mix of varying pinks on Utopia @Tack and it clearly is very healthy.
I've been thinking about pink roses since winter, those that have a progression of pinks as the flowers age, can't get it out of my head. I'm going to check out my current pinks this year and if none of them do this I think I'm going to have to get one.
Some good news today, I found a new space for a big rose, a climber or a lollopy shrub, fun to do a bit of list making for this year's root season already
Apologies for another question, im still learning about roses, sadly a lot of flowers on one of my mayflower are coming out as per the pic above, does any one know what's causing it and is there a cure? Another mayflower right next to it doesn't seem as bad, so is it a problem with this specific plant? A genetic mishap perhaps? As ever, thanks in advance for any help you can give.
@Rickyjones24 Did it get sprayed with anything while a bud?
I don't think so, I didn't realy want to spray any of them, but sprayed some on the more Infamous black spotters i have like brother cadfiel. From memory, I didn't spray mayflower due to its reputed good health.
