@Cambridgerose12 Thank you! I do love tulips, Ive had another raft open so I'll take some more pictures - Ive got very into the colour changing ones this year!
@Marlorena So sorry for your loss, they do leave a big hole when our pets leave us.
Who was it that mentioned the Pheno Geno roses from Trevor whites? Oh my goodness, I keep looking at them. I want Peach or Natalija they are stunning! I might have to go for the latter as its scented, and try it in a pot... (EDIT: Ordered Natalija...)
I popped out at the weekend to do some more moving around and get some of the grown on perennials in (the new borders / extension of old ones has left a lot of little plants stuck at the back and I needed some height too) so lots of pulling forward and I split a bunch of clumped primulas etc into smaller ones to spread out. Lots of new growth and buds - including bonkers which im delighted about - one of the most unusual roses ive ever seen, very excited. This one from styles (not my pic obviously!):-
I must also show this lovely Parahebe lyalli, one of several really good plants bought from MacPlants (thanks, Marlorena). Again, tantalisingly close to flowering:
14 month-old Susan Williams-Ellis. On Marlorena's sleep/creep/leap scale, they have definitely woken up. If I can get some more basal canes, I will have more confidence in myself:
@cooldoc DA's measurements can be a bit misleading as they are pruned heights.. obviously in Nollie's climate it's difficult, but here it can be kept short with regular pruning, and you do have to keep on top of it... here the pink is GJ next to white Iceberg.. the fence is 3 feet high... it can be done, but in the long run I found it tiresome, so she went.. I got 2 top flushes a year, and both times there was no other rose like it in my garden she was fantastic at the time of blooming - horrid when not in flower..
oh gosh all these lovely buds ready to burst... we shall all have our roses flowering at the same time.. this place will be manic ... .. @Nollie . fabulous Mme IP.. and the scent is difficult to beat..
@JessicaS... thanks Jessica.. striking colour on that rose..
@Pianoplayer .delighted you got some nice plants... all looking good
@Bright star ... apart from your roses and lush peonies, I must say I'm impressed with your beautifully edged lawn back there, just how I like to see it...
@purplerallim looking forward to that white rose.. I wonder what it is..
@peteS ..should be ok, everything is late, I can see swellings going on there..
@Janie B ..has somebody been spraying at all? seems to have caught spray drift.. yes I would prune down to lower buds personally.. I don't like the look of those..
