@Katsa I’ve been clearing up dropped leaves underneath and picking off yellow/dying leaves, since they are not doing much, if anything, for the rose. For those suffering the most, I am giving them extra water, a fresh mulch around the base and have laid off giving them bloom-promoting high-potash tomato feed to give them a break - but I’ve had tonnes of blooms already and my first flush is pretty much done, you are not at that stage yet. Probably just picking off the yellow leaves to tidy the plant up and extra water would be enough.

Wow, that’s a bionic Super Trooper @newbie77! It’s one that appreciates a little shade, I think, it certainly fries here in a couple of hours of direct sun, so I will have to move it in the autumn.

@Katsa The classification of Chippendale as a hybrid tea is questionable. It is classified as a HT by Tantau. But from most pictures I've seen, it grows more like a floribunda. HMF has it as floribunda, shrub. It is a modern rose of mixed origin, not really fitting neatly into any category.

Holy Crow @Pete.8 - that's amazing. I hope mine rises to such heights. How long does your first flush last?  It's amazing to think that is a shrub rose.

Until it came into flower I had idea how much bigger it's got. It's scrambling up the rowan tree now... and there's an almost equal amount of flowers in my neighbour's garden too. I'm sure it could cover a castle given time :)
I can't remember how long the first flush lasts @Fire but I'll try and remember to post again when it does. But there will still be plenty more flowers throughout the year from it.
It really has become a  stunning rose - and humming with bees :)

@Nollie - thank you, I'll be doing that (well actually my husband will). I think i overdid it in the garden over the weekend and feel awful!

@edhelka - good to know! I have a pot that needs a rose, so will add it to my bare root list.

Absolutely stunning roses everyone - it gives me such pleasure to scroll through every day, just drooling over them.

I really, really, haven't room for any more!
