The habit is much better on Burgundy Ice since I dug it up, potted and pruned it hard to around 4”, it’s bushed out a lot @Marlorena. The do or die method seems to have worked. E von S is very pretty, lovely foliage too. I’m playing musical chairs with potted roses for the new bed, deciding what goes better with what. I really need to get them planted, but awaiting a couple coming out so I can see the colour. I have a surfeit of pinks!
Love Song has a good, strong neck:
Mountainous Northern Catalunya, Spain. Hot summers, cold winters.
.... @Eustace ..thanks for that.. interesting what others do isn't it?.... we're not sure what we're doing just yet.. but thank you..
@Omori .. I'm amazed, that's a good size.. one often reads such detrimental things about that rose.. I've no idea why I don't have one because I love the colour tones on the blooms and foliage..
@Sammymummy ..oh that's nice,.. I'm glad you're pleased with it, I think it's an understated rose..
I’ve just placed an order for some ladybug larvae.. I’ve decided to take the plunge and give it a go now frosts seem to have passed. I’ll share my experience in due course.
@Athelas I’m looking forward to seeing your Mayflower - it’s been recommended by DA as highly suitable for a windy spot - of which I still have a few on the balcony. How long have you had it for?

It has a few yellow buds this year. Not sure what that's all about.
@Nollie that Love Song rose is stunning!

@peteS, *shudder*
The Mayflower — lots of buds but nothing looks ready to open yet
My friend has sent me this photo of her rose and asking if it is due to some disease. I don't know. What do you all think?
I imagine that I've done so much shifting around of plants this year with the patio etc. That it probably disturbed them.
Lots at the allotment though. I suppose I could catch a few there and bring them back! (Wouldn't really do that)
