First rose in my garden to bloom this year,  Gertrude Jekyll .
@Voyagerxp The underplanting is lovely. What is it? The white daisies?

What a shame @bullfinch, what do you think dug it up, animal or human?

Looks like Cerastium Tomentosum, 'snow in summer'.
    I love this stuff too.
Just another day at the plant...

I can see that @Bright star, it’s pretty much a perfect rose.

I went in the garden this morning to find my newly planted shepherdess  lying on the lawn, along with all the soil from her planting hole. She had a dozen buds of varying sizes too 😥.I've replanted and watered well, but she isn't looking at all happy. I'm not too happy either 😥
Sorry to hear that. Hope she recovers soon. I had so many roses dug up and thrown around like that earlier in season. It was fox and got suggestion of putting cut up onion pieces to deter fox. It worked.

@Omori @Bright star I agree regarding Olivia. And she is an early bloomer too. I am expecting the first bloom tomorrow.
