  • I guess what I'm asking is...   is there a  repeat flowering white rose that looks like tranquility, but is strongly fragrant?

    Would Boule De Neige fit the bill?

    Total rose newbie just been spending a lot of time studying the Beales and DA catalogues so I have no actual experience with this rose.

    Ditto, I'm new to the rose world too, Boule de Neige  did come up a lot on my searchs too, I can't remember why I over looked it ,so may go back and reconsider.  I was suprised by how few,  fragrant, repeat bloom white roses there are.Thanks.

    @cazsophieq2019 Looks like a proper basal growth as it is red in colour.
    @Eustace

    Thanks for your reply and confirming my suspicions.

    Would you have any thoughts on the pruning of bloom once Roses, sorry I'm new to this.  It's my first ever successfully blooming rose and I want to do right by it and generate blooms next year 😀

    @cazsophieq2019 I don't know much about pruning once-flowering roses. I have only one, Paul's Himalayan Musk, which flowers once. I prune the branches that have flowered this year leaving the new ones to flower next year. @Marlorena is the fount of knowledge in this regard. :)

    Oxford. The City of Dreaming Spires.
    And then my heart with pleasure fills,
    And dances with the daffodils (roses). Taking a bit of liberty with Wordsworth :)

    Thanks again that's helpful.
    Yes @Marlorena definitely is the expert.  Hopefully will hear from them 😊

    Sorry, yes looking for  a shrub rose. I could live with a bit of a colour cast. Winchester cathedral may be the way to go and I will just  have to accept I will get random pink blooms occasionally

    The flowers of Susan Williams-Ellis are quite white, but drop their petals very quckly. The blooms last only for a couple of days and have drooping heads.

    @cazsophieq2019 Congrats on the new basal, it means that the rose is happy. I doubt it is a once-bloomer though. Anyway, you don't need to do anything now.

    @Rickyjones24 Macmillan Nurse? Not pure white but maybe white enough? Also, not sure how strong the fragrance is...
