    I like your Phlox 'Old Blue' @Omori
    ... I'm going to look for it next Spring... I could do with that one..

    'Summer Song' is such a rich terracotta orange, I used to have this rose... it was withdrawn from the U.S. a few years ago, not long after being released, as some over there are desperate to get hold of it... I had a lady contact me here a few months back by pm asking how she could get one, or if I could send her cuttings... well, couldn't do that, but I put her in touch with a gentleman I know in California who still has it and is very amicable, and amenable to this sort of request... so hopefully she will get one that route..

    @Eustace
    ... AMND is certainly a sparkler..  pleased you like it and you are most welcome..

    @Marlorena, I meant to say earlier, you have some lovely new pinks in your recent posts, like delicious candies.

    I bought mainly very deep pinks this season to avoid the fading in hot sun problem. Typically, I now find myself with too many of the vivid fucsia/magenta variety as they are holding their colour pretty well in the East garden. Add to that the purples such as Ebb Tide and Palais Biron turn magenta in heat, I need some more mid pinks/cool lavenders/whites to achieve a more balanced palette (excuse number one). I have a couple in mind, but I also have one rose on my list only available direct from Delbard and of course one can’t just order a single bare root (excuse number two). I rather fancy this new one, the name translates as the Mad Courtesan:

    Fabulous roses again @Tack, Utopia certainly looks vigorous.

    I can’t get on with coral as a colour either, that peculiar blend of orange/pink makes my teeth hurt. I had three shrubby ‘tangerine dream’ agastaches that the hummingbird hawkmoths adored, and we adored watching them, but they were coral so had to go. I think a good, properly orange rose is hard to find. Alexander was a sickly runt and also coral here, so you can guess it’s fate. OH has declared that she loves Super Trouper, so that’s staying whatever!

    Hi
    My DA roses finished a few weeks ago. They are repeat flowering so may get second flush maybe. I have been deadheading continuously and fed and watered to the best of my knowledge.
    Should I be cutting them back now, as they have grown vigorously this season? Or is there anything else I should be doing now?
    there are 3 climbing ones
    bathsheba
    pilgrim
    abd Shropshire lad
    all advice greatly appreciated

    Lovely second flushes from everyone! I love odyssesy and mme antoine mari especially.. I find everyones companion planting inspiring too, im going to try madame julia clematis and etoile next year where my spring bloomers look just green. Ive still got a lot of planting to do this weekend already though ;)

    Syrie and Cadfael especially are gearing up for another huge burst looking at the buds, and most of mine have good fat buds again so I'll post pictures as they all open.
