@Littlegarden ..I've grown a number of thornless rose, including Kew Gardens, so if you can be more specific about size, colour etc.. I might be able to offer some suggestions..
...meanwhile.. here's a photo I have of 'Duc de Guiche'.. the rose sold under this name, which like a lot of Old Roses, may not be the 1835 original.. but never mind about that.. I recall it had a strong sweet scent, but can't remember how thorny it was... quite a compact plant, not very large..
Fascinating @Marlorena. I’ve never got enough scent of SWE to detect much of anything. Another white, Mme. Hardy, smells of freshly mown grass to my nose, very green and clean.
Buds continue to tease on new roses..
Blush Noisette on the left and Excellenz von Shubert on the right, these will be ready to plant out soon:
A little bud hiding at the bottom on EvS:
Chartreuse de Parme, wow, it’s bright!
Golden Beauty looking more peachy than golden, Lady Emma Hamilton behind, maintaining her red foliage well, Hemerocallis Stella d’Or in between:
Not a rose, but the foliage of Cotinus Coggyria Royal Purple with raindrops caught my eye:
Mountainous Northern Catalunya, Spain. Hot summers, cold winters.

Thanks for the photo, looks a bit like Gertrude Jekyll? It looks good.
I have a cottage style garden, so colour isn’t too much of an issue. Size might be, as I have planted a couple this year that will get big. Although I am thinking of getting an obelisk, so a climber may work. I have the yellow banksia and like the look of the white one. If it is less likely to get black spot than that is a definite bonus! I think that was what upset me about the Litchfield Angel, it isn’t even late in the season yet.
@Mr. Vine Eye I hadn’t thought of Kew Gardens, it looks lovely.
Thanks, I am going to think about it over the summer and then order a bare root or 2 for the autumn.
Bought this today to get on top of a potential chlorotis problem in a couple of my roses...but what is the best way to apply it, via a root drench or sprayed on the leaves.
Too early to say about CdeP @Marlorena, only faint so far, combination of not fully open and cold and wet, probably.
Ah, Duc de Guiche, I swithered for ages between that and Mme. Isaac Periere @Littlegarden but the latter won out on repeat flowering. Now I’m more relaxed about once-flowering roses, I do still wonder if I made the right choice! I fell in love with DdeG in a local Hotel’s cottage/vegetable garden a couple of years ago. Do you remember these photos Marlorena? It was unlabelled but at the time you thought it was ‘most probably’ it..

Oh, I have loads of synesthesia. Would we all agree that red roses and yellow roses smell very different?
..beautiful tulips... I'm missing those this Spring..
@Nollie
..it's barely open but no doubt you've had a sniff of Chartreuse.... what do you think of it?.
