Hazel - It's only a one or two day job for the landscaper with his digger and big-boy kit. It's just cutting a corner off the border really and then hardcoring there & where the (huge) copper beech tree was and then putting down shingle.

I'm pleased the tree isn't there anymore - so much leaves and other mess in the autumn (it was as tall as the house and cast lots of shade) We used to have to do a really tight S-shaped reverse to get the m/home round the tree and then round the corner of the garage. Once the drive has been done we should be able to reverse nearly straight back in.

Also won't be sorry to say goodbye to the huge spoil heap from grinding the tree roots out. It's been there for a year while the inaccessible roots rot and soften and is a real eyesore - was well over a metre high and about 2m x 2m. The neighbour's cats all love it...🤨💩

Sounds like an excellent plan Topbird. As others have said sometimes an easy life is the thing to aim for.
Just had a couple of hours in the garden quite warm in the sunshine. Still lots to do especially as I was tempted by DA discount code and have orders 3 roses. All short climbers to go on obelisks hoping to get some structure on the patio. Can anyone suggest a lilac clematis? Small flowers to bloom in summer? Suitable for a large pot( half barrel)
fiance is loads better and busy chopping up meat and making stock etc. He has even made a load of mince. Freezer is filling up again.

Afties all. T'Bird, sounds like a grand makeover to your woodland border. You might even find a small corner for a planter or two as long as they don't obstruct the m/home. Yvie, how very annoying that you didn't get all your purchases. I did smile when you mentioned getting just the steamer chair cushion and watching your OH getting up from it. I wouldn't  be able to get down to it never mind getting up! Debs I'm glad to hear your fiancé has recovered.
Debs, there are two lovely Boulevard clemmies that might just suit you. One called Cezanne and one called Bernadine.

    Hi everyone,
It's been a lovely sunny day here today, so went out in the garden. Weather forecast for tomorrow is awful, so glad we got a lot  done.
@Songbird-1 agree how awful, too much said 😳
I want to get some more agapanthus plants this year, I lost mine last year 😣
@bluebellsinthewild I'm well thank you, hope you're feeling better too.  OH is enjoying Pilates,  it's a gentle Pilates, but  is very good for him.

    Good Morning

Yesterday was lovely and rather mild too. This morning,  I have got up to dark, dull weather with rain. I know it was forecast but there is always that little hope the forecast is wrong.

Just having breakfast and watching GMTV.

    Have a lovely day all

Good morning PR. I always have that little bit of optimistic hope that the weather forecast may be slightly wrong and that there might be a bit of brightness later in the day.
