Yes LB & Hazel - the car passed it's MOT without any problems. It was quite a big service though so the bill was still £££'s.

It's a bad month for us. We dropped the m/home off for both vehicle and habitation service on the way to MIL's last week. Like the car, it didn't get done last year (I wonder why🤔???😁) so they both had 2 years of catching up to do.

OH also had his m/bike serviced and MOT'd this week, the breakdown insurance is due for renewal on the 26th, car tax is due by 31st and the m/home insurance expires at the beginning of April.

Yikes! We have a lot of fun with our toys but a month like this brings home the cost. It's all budgeted for and I know it costs the same whether it's one bill a month or all bills in one month - but even so...

PS. My name is Topbird and I'm a chocaholic. It has been 15hrs and 25mins since my last piece of chocolate.

PPS - I'm still wondering why I wrote disgard instead of discard in my last post. Used to be good at spelling but computers and spellcheckers have made me lazy.

Afternoon All, I’ve had such a chuckle reading through your posts at all the confessions 😀
Hazel I’m glad you’ve made peace with yourself over the knitting, I’m sure you’ll find something more appealing to do,
Topbird the vaccines are going so well aren’t they, it’s most encouraging. That does sound like an expensive month with the various motoring costs, but as you said the budget is the same whenever it’s done,
LB Hope you get on well with your new glasses, pleased your Sco shop was successful with sensible shoppers. Did you notice any short supplies in the store?
RosieBB Hope the flat things are well under way, I too have a pile waiting in the wings to be done,
SGL I hope you managed to get the supplies you needed this morning, take it easy this afternoon,
Yvie I love Gabriels word ploblem, I hope your raised bed delivery comes tomorrow without any further delay,
Debs You have a good way of thinking. I hope work goes well and you can look forward to the arrival of those Clematis,
Rubee I hope you are having a good day, it’s still blustery & chilly here though the sun is shining,
Right I must get cracking, Have a good afternoon everyone.

Interesting to hear of the various shortages still occurring in the SM's. We do a lot of oriental cooking & I couldn't get hold of soy sauce, mirin or coconut milk anywhere for about 4 weeks - tried several different SM's. Fortunately I keep reserve supplies in the larder but I was near to the end of those.

10 days ago the shelves were replenished (hurrah!) but the last 2 weeks I've not been able to get OH's favourite cereal. It's a SM own brand so I can't even try other SM's for that one. Various other things have also been out over the last few weeks then suddenly back again. Imagine it's sickness at the packing plants or manufacturers or a problem with supplies of either ingredients or packaging.

Farmers, SM's & other companies have done very well to overcome lots of obstacles to keep us happy and fed over the last year🙂

Afternoon I’ve done all that I wanted to do, so a quick pop in before dinner prep starts,
Hazel I think that’s a good idea to buy the bigger one to keep you going,
T’bird It must be localised shortages as the items you’ve found difficult to purchase I've seen in our SM. We need to organise Al to ship these goods about 🐪

Chive, I didn't notice any particular shortages in the SM today but that might have been that the things I wanted were in ample supply. I don't think people are panic buying any more thank goodness. T'Bird, I'll pack Al with some soy sauce and coconut milk for you. I also keep those in for cooking with.
New specs are fine and haven't needed any 'getting used' to at all. I wore them straight from Spooksavers and drove home in them without any adjustments needed.
I went down to the greenhouse today to water and check on plants and when I left the GH the skies decided to open on me and I had to walk hurriedly - no way could it be  described as a run - to get back to the shelter of the kitchen. It was nice and warm in the GH too but not outside.
My dahlia seedlings are all coming through now. Hoorah!

    @Songbird-1 😀 Wouldn’t That be great Hazel!
LB Great news that your glasses need no tweaking and you were able to wear them home & fantastic news about your Dahlia seedlings 🎉
I agree people are certainly not panic buying, it must just be some products in each store. Hopefully SGL got all the things they needed today.
Quite a quick dinner in the end tonight jacket potato with tuna & sweetcorn, very tasty.
Hope Ante has had a good week at school, have a nice evening all.

I've just had an email from my hairdresser to say they are taking bookings now. Thank goodness. I've just made an appointment for 09:00 on Tuesday 27 April - 3 days after my final Covid jab. That will be a busy time for me but I can't wait to get to the hairdresser.

How lovely Ruby - shasta daisies. They were one of my Mum's favourites. Are you like me in wondering where the days go?
