Hi all, very busy morning I only went out to look at front garden then fiancé appeared and we now have 3 less conifers out there. Have put down a membrane and some slabs need more slabs and some stones then I aim to have big pots with plants. Very low maintenance and tidy too. The conifers were all at least half dead brown and ugly. There is a very pretty acer out there and a rather bedraggled photinia that was starved I think, also a camellia that I have dug up I will plant it in appropriate soil in a pot the leaves are very yellow. I want a little water feature too and some bee friendly stuff in the pots.
Pleased people are better and hope you all have good gardening weather

Afternoon all - waiting for the rugby to come on and we had a massive hailstorm earlier. Heaven help any tender plants just breaking through. Chive, that is really great news. I'm very pleased for you.

Afternoon - cold, wet and very windy here😎 - definitely an indoor day. Just had a furry visitor from next door and now about to shorten the sleeves on a dressy top that's been hanging in the wardrobe for about 2 years awaiting alterations. Had completely forgotten about it - just glad it's not shrunk TOO much over lockdown😉

Rubee - that SM substitution is hilarious! I don't often do an online SM shop but the few subs I've had have been sensible ones.

Chive - great news on the vaccine front. Wish we could book our 2nd jabs now. 12 weeks is up on the day we travel to Northumberland in May. Doc advised to phone surgery nearer the time to try to get a slightly earlier slot. Hope we can although we'll amend the dates of our holiday if needs must.

I really must walk down to the shed to check the seed trays. Only sowed on Wed so, hopefully, nothing will have germinated yet and nothing should need watering - it just looks & sounds horrible out there....

Could do with a cuppa now so - if you're trying out that teapot Ante....😏
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down

Oh my goodness Ruby. I hope that won't stop you from sleeping later. Just watched a cracking rugby match - England beat France 23-20. There has been another murder in my garden:
    I hope it wasn't Hoppity.

Oh heck Ruby, that was a long afternoon nap. You were obviously tired and needed it, but I do hope you're not awake tonight.

LB, OH watched the rugby too! 🤗
    Do hope Hoppity is ok

    Evening everyone,
Debs Gosh it sounds like you made good progress with the front garden. It will be nice if you can restore the Camilla & the Acer and Photinia should enjoy the space you’ve created,
Topbird Shame you cant book those 2nd jabs in advance, it would be disappointing to alter your travel dates now you’ve made plans,
LB That is a grisly sight, lets hope it wasn’t poor hoppity. Glad you enjoyed the rugby,
Rubee Enjoying a siesta this afternoon, you must have needed it. I love your new Avatar picture very pretty,
SGL how are you feeling after your early awakening this morning? I expect you could use forty winks 😴
Felt rather chilly so the fire was lit and just having a hot cuppa to warm up. Have a nice evening all.

Evening all, Internet has just been restored after almost 24 hours.  Quite a big area was affected, no idea what happened.  I've been waiting all day for my raised bed to be delivered.  Didn't turn up again, I've tried to contact Quickcrop but no answer.  I've tried to track the delivery using the code they supplied but it wasn't recognised.  I'm going to post one hell of an update to my review come Monday.
The day wasn't a complete washout, managed to plant two new clematis and a pot of lupins, also gave my garden chair a coat of teak oil and fed the roses.
    Hope everyone enjoys their evening.

Gosh Yvie, how VERY frustrating for you. I'd also blast your service provider about the 24 hour cut off. You should get a rebate. It is really annoying when you have to hang around waiting for a delivery and then it doesn't happen. At least you did have quite a productive day gardening so I'm guessing your weather hasn't been too bad.

    Good evening.

LB, I also hope that it wasn't Hoppity. Despite all it is magnificent bird. I'm glad that you enjoyed watching football 🏈.

Yvie, sorry to hear about Internet problem. At least it's sorted now.

It was beautiful sunny day and I spent it almost all in the garden. All spring flowers are in bloom and soun of bees is so satisfying. I'll make tea and watch Poirot.

    Today's sunset.

Wish you all good night and sweet dreams.
