Don't support any of the teams anymore @punkdoc but it seems the French have misbehaved re Covid so let Karma prevail.

hello everyone. Cool but sunny here. I’m thinking about washing towels and bathroom mats. At least they can go into the tumble dryer if the predicted showers arrive.

Hubby and his Fire Captain have gone to Nimitabel today to give a planned talk about fire behaviour and fire fighting tactics, etc. Hopefully, the day won’t be too long for them.  Both of them seem to need an afternoon nap.

I’m half thinking about getting my Ukelele out and having a practice. The Ukelele group (U3A) has continued to meet  on Mondays, but I haven’t attended for a year or so. Dropped my bundle after Hubby was diagnosed, but I think it’s time to pull myself together, I’m expecting sore finger tips, if I can convince myself to get started. 😁

By the way, I noticed on the TV program that the series you were talking about recently, (Line of Duty), is showing on the Fox Sleuth channel.  I’ve told Hubby that you have recommended it, but he doesn’t sound keen. He’d rather watch the cooking shows.🙄 I did note that you recommended seeing the earlier series, which means he’d have to do something clever on his computer.

The MasterChef professionals this time has been interesting. We’ve only got one episode to go I think.  I still get annoyed with one particular judge (female) being preoccupied with what SHE prefers rather than if a dish is well done. At least Marcus and Greg are sensible.

I hope you all have a good sleep.

Well, I’ve done it. Got the Uke out and had a go. I’m amazed that I can still remember my chords, well, most of them anyway. I checked my little note book where I listed what we did each session, and was surprised to see that the last session I attended was 9th March. Fancy that! Almost exactly a year.  😃

Unfortunately Hosta, (re the parking in front of our garage)if we parked behind said vehiicle, blocking THAT in, we would be into the slip road, bang opposite is Tesco Goods entrance, and you get whopping great lorries there.Hubby did go into the couple of village stores, there to see if anyone there owned it, unable to find owner, there are flats above the shops, far too many to go and knock on every door, a a great deal do not speak English.  It was there on and off for a couple of weeks, not seen it since, Ys, I know the garage door looks awful, it was pained just before we moved here, goodness knows what with, under the blue, is white powdery, looks like (remember it!!) the old whitewash.  We cannot realistically get power there to sand it down to base metal. There is an Electricity Sub Station just the other side of the fence, and we have some kind of "Deed" dated 2002, with rules and reg (NOT adhered to by our neighbour!!) we reckon at some time, like him, there was access to our garage, through the next garden, because we have a window in our garage.  Never been able to acertain this, unable to trace the oroginal builders, or planning permission

Dove, we don't own the drive, just the garage, I think it's something to do with the Electricity sub station, mentioned in my post a while ago today
  • Morning all,

Finally feeling human again. It was a tough 48 hours, but worth every second to have the vaccination inside of me.

Busy day at CdeG, lots of takeaways and I'm going to try and power wash the desk ready for a new coat of protective stain. It's not bad at all, but I might as well get it done before we open and whilst the weather is good.

Must dash, have a good weekend all.  Sorry to hear your news @punkdoc and @Nanny Beach I can understand your frustration, very annoying.

    Good morning all 😊 ☕️
we’ve already returned (home at 7:40 am) from the Wrose in the village, the car boot crammed with enough stuff to get us to the other side of easter. We decided this was the best option as due to Easter the Sainsbugs delivery slots were few and far between ... OH raided the shelves while I sat in the car reading and reliving my youth with Tony Blackburn 😎

Golly gosh it’s windy out there this morning 🌬

Now for a second coffee ☕️
and then OH will unload the car and fill the garage fridge and I will make the sourdough pizza bases and tomato ‘jam’ for this evening’s pizzas.

@“Nanny Beach" maybe your garage was built or converted without planning consent ... that might explain the access conundrum ... although that certainly should’ve been revealed when your solicitor did the Searches etc .

Most of the bungalows round here have garages in blocks in slip roads, we are just unlucky that ours is used by various shops to unload.

    Morning all,

That would hack me right off, @Nanny Beach. Hope you get to the bottom of it all eventually. Or folk stop being so selfish.

It's either going to be a very busy (but satisfying) weekend or lazy and, ultimately, regretfully frustrating. I'm prone to both ;)

I'm up and done the washing-up so off to a flyer :D
