Thanks @purplerallim! I’ve planted an orangey border with blue geranium Roxanne’s and it’s in the mix there with I am Macmillan and Judi dench so I’m looking forward to seeing them bloom... and smelling them x
That mix sounds more pink/yellow to me @Ffoxglove with the Judi dench tending towards yellow and macmillan dark pink, but the Sheila's will fit between the two nicely I think.
@owd potter ...your new roses are doing well, considering the cool temps right now... one needs patience with Austins, they are not always the quickest off the mark.. what 4 roses did you order... I'm itching to know..
...yes you most certainly have @Ffoxglove ...did you know it has a prominent place in the gardens at Sissinghurst? on a wall there, a magnificent specimen, at least the last time I saw it.. ..it blooms almost continuously until autumn but it's important to remove the hips otherwise it will stop flowering.. a brilliant red, semi single..
I said I wasn't ordering any more roses, but I have failed in that mission, and now have another 3 on the way..
I got.. 'Heritage'... 'Sombreuil'.. and 'Botzaris'..
I'm looking forward to it too @Nollie This was a rebound purchase to assuage my disappointment at finding Munstead Wood was sold out and to be discontinued... It has a bit to make up for
@Marlorena I have ordered Ghislaine de Feligonde, Lichfield Angel, Roald Dahl and Vanessa Bell. These are for my new White/yellow/Apricot bed. I was not intending to purchase now but was beguiled into buying them by an email from DA reminding me of the end of their sale discount... Can't help thinking it's a bit late to be planting bare roots, but then again it is more like January out there at the moment.
Westerland is certainly in the mix now, thanks @Nollie
@owd potter The bare roots from this spring are catching up fast. Lady of Shalott was planted about 1 month ago (with the roots going straight down and all the canes going one way).
Also planted early March, Mme Isaac PeriereEven the sorry looking Marie Pavie from this week springing into lifeAs are Velvet Fragrance and my surprise inclusion in the TCL order; Millie RoseThis pair have adopted the garden and are getting very tame. I haven't noticed any damage and I'm optimistically imagining they are good slug removers.

@Tack, another orange/yellow, but I thought of Westerland as a potential large shrub for your fairy ring?

Life is too short for underperforming roses!
