  • @Marlorena - oh no, I won’t be making a gardening channel! It’s just a handy place for hosting videos if I wanted to share something on here.

Did the video embed in my post? As in you could play it from this webpage.

It hadn’t done that the last few times I’ve shared a video, good if it has!

@Tack, thanks. I found blackspot not too noticeable in my first year of roses except a few plants. I will see how it goes this year, and if looks bad enough I will try this sulphur spray.

So sulphate of potash is different and is some kind of fertilizer? When do we apply that?

@Tack, the very same product I’m looking at! It should be yellow sulphur as all other types are apparently banned in the EU now. Yellow sulphur is naturally occurring and approved for organic agriculture. Don’t know what the other 20% is though, I am trying to find a technical spec for it.

@newbie77 Sulphate of potash is different - a soluble powder and simply provides potash, a much cheaper alternative to liquid tomato feed. I will be using it this year in a new feeding regime (in place of DA rose food) in combination with alfalfa tea with added seaweed tonic and magnesium salts.

@Tack, found the tech spec sheet, it’s only ingredient is organically certified sulphur, 80% is the concentration. The safety info says do not to breathe in the fumes and wear protective gear. But that goes for any potions and powders really, organic or not.

    Thanks @Nollie, I figured it can't hurt.
Very pretty @Mr. Vine Eye , it is a constant light flurry here that just evaporates in this very dry air. It's cold enough to settle, the grass and flood surface are ice (satisfyingly crunchy), very odd.
