Well it’s the first bloom @Marlorena, so difficult to say since so often they are atypical so I’m hoping it’s a bit more purple in it’s final dappled shade position as I seem to recall it might need a bit of shade here. It’s probably in too much sun just now, outside my poly.
Mountainous Northern Catalunya, Spain. Hot summers, cold winters.
..well, you're way ahead of us because I've never had a flower open on this rose before May 21st.. you'll be bathing in that pool before our roses are out ...
You've all done so much in your gardens and we've had the perfect weather for it. The sun is out today but very cold winds. We demolished our old wooden chicken coop at the side of the garden and moved the mobile one into it's place so now the lawn is nice and open again and ready for me to dig out the circular flower bed that I wanted.
I've planted some Salvia, Nepeta, Globe Thistle and Verbena Bonariensis in the sunnier beds. Also got a couple of Heuchera for around the little nature pond that has tadpoles again and 3 new Clematis....Comtesse de Bouchard, Montana Elizabeth and Arabella.
I've got 3 buds so far. This is on Rhapsody in Blue and also have spotted a bud on a couple of climbers....Dixieland Linda and Alibaba.
Camelia Debbie
Fragrant Daffodil which has a citrusy scent.
Heuchera Huckleberry and Boysenberry. Brunnera Jack Frost.....first time in years that I've seen it this good. Normally it's so wet and the slugs decimate it. I'm sure it will disappear soon sadly.
Magnolia Purpurea. I've also just ordered a Magnolia Stellata Rosea.
Blue Tits are pecking at the entrance every day so hoping they do end up nesting in there. Flowers are from Clematis Armandii Appleblossom
@Victoria Sponge ...you have an interesting list of roses to choose from... I'm just going to add that if you are looking to purchase from Peter Beales, 'Autumn Delight' is on their 'drop list', so may not be available much longer..
..I meant to post this before, but if anyone is interested, here are the roses Beales will be dropping later this year... ignore the bit about bundles..
@poppyfield64 @newbie77 .. lovely plants one and all.. love the birdbox too.. Magnolias are looking just great now aren't they.. frosts always arrive just at the wrong time..
@edhelka ..no I suppose not, unless they offer more 'Lens' perhaps? if you had a choice of a bundle, which would you have chosen?... ignoring the fact we may be out of room, I'd have gone for bundle 12 or perhaps 7, I think..
@Marlorena Hard decision! and good dreaming... 6, I think But almost every bundle has something I would love to have one day (in a bigger garden or maybe in a garden with dryer summers).
I feel strangely drawn to owning a rose called Spong.
Lovely acreage @Nollie, I am attempting the Med look, I planted 2 Italian Cypresses a couple of years ago, I'm amazed how well they are doing. This one is 9ft
