I was pretty sure you knew but I couldn't bite my tongue anyway @Mr. Vine Eye
Yes I think hellebores are expensive but I'm finding plants altogether are bounding up in price. My purchased specimens are getting tinier to try to keep the price down. Thursday I received the tiniest plug plants ever, the same diameter as my little finger and half the length. I'll try to avoid those, the plantlets were a bugger to get out without damaging them.

@edhelka...you would've thought I would have noticed it's growth pattern by now wouldn't you after growing it for the past 5 years or so.

@Marlorena...the 'Thomas a Beckett' I asked advice on a few days ago, which had been heeled in for a few months, turned out to be 'Roundelay' It's only when I unearthed the buried label I found out. I think it was an impulse buy which turns out to have mixed reviews. One of the more interesting observations came from findmerose and read..."blooms tend to age to the color of faded liver"...interesting! Lovely foliage at the moment though.

Thanks. I accidentally poured cement all over the echinacea. Don't think they'll thank me for that!!

I've tried to give them a clean up

    Mmm faded liver...

My Charles de Mills is leafing out, but it’s in a sheltered spot.

Gorgeous day, have been busy planting herbaceous perennials to go in between the roses.

5 pages of posts within a day and almost 45 mins to go through the posts.
Loving all the perennials and roses here. Sadly I cant own many perennials.. As I prefer giving that space to my roses. Wish my garden was as big as @Nollie 's :)
My phlox was eaten by slugs overnight. Hoping my Lupins come off good.

So many posts to go through.

@Nollie, hope your dog recovers soon and emergency gas supply gets sorted.

@Mr. Vine Eye, very nice patio. Perfect to enjoy the garden.

Loving everyone's garden photos specially estrantia and hellebores.

@cooldoc , I can totally relate to your feelings about losing plants to slugs. In my experience slugs and snails have their favourites but if I don't plant their favourite plants, they still don't leave my garden and start eating whatever is their next choice.

hmmm.. I'm quite taken by it.. I can get one over here..

..I'm so excited, my Veronicastrums are poking through... can you tell me please if they are likely to flower this year?  you don't see them with roses, so not sure how this will pan out..

Yes they will flower this year but will not obtain their full height this year, they do bulk out fairly quickly but for Diane which is know to be slow. Probably don't see them with many shrub rose due to them flowering in late July into august just missing out on the first main flush but to earlier for the 2nd flush , that's how it works out with my roses and veronciastrums anyway .  If you have a rose that flowers around that time you'll be fine . Don't forget to keep them moist they get stunted otherwise.

What was the name of that online place a lot of people have ordered plants from? It was mentioned on here.

Like mud plants or something!? I can't find it.
