RHS Harlow Carr is a fabulous garden, the displays are wonderful and I’ve nicked a few ideas myself. They have huge terracotta pots dotted about with seasonal displays that always look impressive plus they have a Betty’s cafe!🤤. Harlow Carr was the closest garden to me but the new RHS garden Bridgewater which is closer opens in May, so I’m looking forward to visiting that one.
Life's tragedy is that we get old too soon and wise too late.
..lots of nice buds @edhelka .. more advanced than most of mine I think...
..as for Harlow Carr's reduction of Mortimer Sackler rose.. well, sorry, but I'm going to say ''what's the point?''.. might as well plant a short shrub rose.. that's going too far in my opinion, as we can see from the picture, it wants to shoot straight up with that tall cane... ..grow it as a large shrub, yes, very do-able.. but rather than innovative, I call that a faux pas from Harlow Carr.. otherwise - lovely garden, I've been there..
'Alan Titchmarsh' I think is difficult to find now, but that's a lovely rose, with good foliage.. very much in the 'Royal Jubilee' lookalike group... I'm going to say not quite as good though..
@Marlorena, GB was part of a batch of poor specimens from Beales, along with Ivor’s Rose and Alexander, that are all diseased and/or runty. All meant to be good, healthy roses so hopefully they will pick up.
@Rickyjones24 you really have the rose bug bad, welcome to the club 😆

...yes, Ricky certainly gone to town with roses.. great to see.. and I didn't mean to sound so churlish about Harlow Carr's rose growing... I do get a bit opinionated.. sorry..
.. I've had one or two poor ones from Beales this year but I got these 2 nice potted roses come today.. both I've had before at some point.. 'Pearl Drift'..left and 'Gruss an Aachen'..
Spotted my first buds on Rhapsody in Blue and Climbing Arthur Bell. Looked at some photos from last year and think we are about a week behind due to the weather as are the Blue Bells. I have to say that the no blackspot is nice thought
They look good, @Marlorena, but I’m personally not prepared to play the Beales lottery again. Not that I could anyway, since they have stopped shipping here!
