Yes I wouldn’t touch them until you can see roots at the bottom of the pot. They can last such a long time and push out growth even if they fail to root. I’ve still got a pair of cuttings in a jar of water. They’re a year old and seem to be in a permanent state of undeath.

I think perhaps I shall go for Lady of the Lake after all. I like the open centres and the foliage looks great - Very similar to Malvern hills’. I’ll try and find a Graham Thomas at the garden centre again where I saw them before. When we’re allowed to travel out of our area again. It’s only 15 minutes away but. I’d at grow that at Green Stain corner

Sooo Silas Marner or Olivia for a pot?

I do like the look of Nye Bevan but it’s just too similar to Vanessa Bell to go where I’d want it, and I don’t want to put a light scented one in a pot near the door

    Also:

Darcey Bussell vs Princess Anne vs England’s rose

please - for the red/dark pink one I wanted near Emily Bronte and Lady Emma Hamilton.

Sorry to hear about yours @Omori@Marlorena, my Mutabilis is limping on. There were a lot of canes, so even after significant dieback there is hopefully enough left for it to recover in time. Although that bottom left cane is looking dodgy now:

@REN_AmateurG  congratulations on your first purchase! I have Mme. AC new this year too. I expect it to take a few years to get going, so we shall have to cultivate patience. Not something I’m very good at!

@Mr. Vine Eye  I have Darcy. I love the colour and shape of the blooms. Susceptible to BS though.

Soak it now. You can plant it tomorrow.
Good thing you said that - surprise frost last night! Luckily I turned the poop in the soil and covered it to stop my dog sneaking out to eat it. Roses stayed inside soaking.
  • @Nollie years? Omg I'm going to hate the plant lol....

@REN_AmateurG usually the combination of being both a climber and and old rose means they take a while to climb and be smothered in blooms. You will get something before that though. Some are quicker than others, so of anyone on here grows Mme. AC and can tell us what to expect when that would be good! A few instant gratification floribundas are useful while you wait 😃

@Mr. Vine Eye, thanks for info on cuttings. Mine are in 3 liter black pots so I will leave them alone in a shady corner.

It's a shame we can't travel yet. I still haven't managed to give my friend the roses I got for her before Christmas. I guess if I give her in May they would be in flowers and look better than couple of sticks.

...not looking too great @Nollie but hopefully some life left in that, and I expect it will be blooming before mine..

..well, it's been another nice day today, Spring is almost here and I've been digging over a new planting hole which presented itself to me unexpectedly..  I have on order 'The Anniversary Rose' [aka 'Line Renaud'.. 'Dee-Lish'] which everyone raves about elsewhere so that will be going in..
