Ouch! Thorns don’t bother me really, I get regularly spiked, but I would still would choose health and fragrance over that. Then there is the prickles, often worse than the thorns!

@Omori ..no idea about Corvedale, it's not one they've ever promoted much have they? I expect even Gertrude Jekyll will not be safe from the chop eventually... I find it unfathomable that they hold on to roses like 'The Lady's Blush', I mean who buys that other than me? it was a nice rose actually, but hardly in the top rank of Austins... yet they get rid of some that have always been so popular..
I dug this up today... left over from when they put up the new fence.. I thought they had removed everything like this... ..however, it's left behind a nice patch of earth... my neighbour shouted across ''are you going to plant a nice tree?''... well.. er... are you mad?..
Heres my big excitement for the day, The landscaping is finished! Im so pleased with it theyve done a lovely neat job. The rosebed in the lawn is bigger and all nicely edged ready for a couple more and a lot of underplanting, my other rose bed on the left is now nicely tucked behind a doggie proof fence and Ive got oodles of room on the left and under the climbing roses and at the side for others - 20+ new roses to plant this year in here and the front, all sprouting away down the side! I'll be doing that over the weekend. Lots of spring bulbs and perennials already under that dark soil ready to burst into flower and a whole heap of new plants to go in. Super excited for spring and this lot to flower! I'll be planting things to trail over and through those edges and popping some lavender pots in the gravel in summer!

I've just noticed Corvedale is out of stock as a bare root and not available as potted...does this mean it's likely being phased out?
