    Yes, I’d say it’s a goner too @Marlorena. Oh you have Windflower, I shall look forward to seeing it, and England’s Rose. They are all coming on very nicely.

    @Marlorena

    I too have Windflower Marlorena. It's been languishing in the soil being overwhelmed by other plants and looking very sad for it's self for 2-3 years. But I dug it up, re-potted it and is now looking strong and healthy and hopefully will bloom.

    I received and planted blue for you bare root today. Is it likely to do much this year being so late?

    ... not a problem Ditsy... it will catch up and start flowering 3rd or 4th week in May.. by September you might even get one of these.. but don't be alarmed it's not as bad as it looks..

    I recall now that you had it too... I'm delighted to see it recovering..

    Thank you @Marlorena for the suggestion. I will look into it. I’ve ordered fence post fixings and am hoping to grow more climbers this year in addition to Shropshire Lad, New Dawn and Etoile de Hollande.

    I might get something like Blue for You or diamond eyes to replace Amber Queen.

    No no no! No more roses!!! They had Ab Fab in the garden centre that I have a voucher for.

    @Ditsy it might take longer to get going but it'll certainly grow and flower this year.

    @Marlorena - Would Aster Monch be ok in an East Facing position? Sun up to midday/1pm.
    It says Full Sun on website. Just wondering if that was a possibility on that side of the garden.

    I've got so many of them now! Suppose there's no harm in trying.

    @JessicaS, I have Blue Angel next to a white climbing rose Starlight Symphony. The clematis is on the mauve shade of blue and it flowered from July to September, group 3 pruning. Both rose and clematis were planted last year so we're a bit sparse last summer but hopefully will blend together this summer.
    I bought Blue Angel after reading positive reviews on Thorncroft website.

    I can't see that would be a problem.. mine is more west facing, not getting sun until early afternoon... I've also grown it here and elsewhere, north - NW facing and I hardly noticed any difference..
