Coldest night here this week is going to be 6 I hope we were going lucky here with the frosts
@Marlorena she does still lay every other day...very delicious.
I see you have iberis which is on my list. Was looking at pink. Ice. I'm also looking for sone creeping phlox. May order from South Eastern that Jessica linked too. How does yours perform.
I think I will definitely swap over GW with plasenterie. That one is looking very healthy.
We are enjoying a break from the frosts here, but I fear the same thing happening again, where everything gets going only to be bitten and blooming halted. I had my first bloom on Warm Welcome on 31st March, then nothing. Same with Darcy Bussell, which had a bud with good colour showing on the same date, but still looks the same 3 weeks later.
@Marlorena, plenty of buds forming on RdeM but it’s not one of the front-runners. I hope to see some more action over the coming week!
Mountainous Northern Catalunya, Spain. Hot summers, cold winters.
Quick pop out into the garden before I left for work. Hopefully there'll be some open crab apple blossom when I come home!
And clematis Alpina Frankie. I'll have to see if I can manage to keep it short running behind the bottom half of the tree. I like the leaves on it. Another thought was dead only to reappear full of flowers one.
I was expecting it to be more blue, seems to be a lot of variation in colour when you search for it online.
Extraordinary how many new shoots emerging from one spot on my 'Open Arms', it must be itching to get going'
@Marlorena...sadly the photo doesn't really show the true state of 'Dusky Maiden'. Probably started the Spring with twice as many canes but they just die back and then have to be chopped off. The same is the probable outcome of at least one of the canes still left on.
..fingers crossed.. we might see a change in the weather from May 2nd... I notice the winds changing to W.. SW... we've been stuck in this NNE airflow for too long..
@poppyfield64 ..I love my Iberis plants, I have several varieties, can't remember all the names... I think they're exceptional as some start in January and continue flowering until late May.. One of them has seeded against my wall..
...glad you get some nice eggs.. how lovely... when young we had Rhode Island Reds in the back garden... at least that's what my parents called them..
@Mr. Vine Eye I love your clematis Frankie... I used to have quite a few Alpinas but lost them all one year, I think to farmer spraying over the fence.. he's stopped doing it now..
If you ever do want a good bluey, then 'Francis Rivis' might appeal to you..
I must get this one back again.. the pink is macropetala 'Markham's Pink'..
