    Good morning all
@Allotment Boy it took 2 hours of heating to get our house up to 15 degrees!!!!! It's still incredibly cold here with a wind chill having a horrid influence on the temperature.  Even though it says its 1 degree outside,  very little of the snow has melted and the pavements are compacted ice!!!!!

Happy valentines day to everyone,  as a demonstration of his love,  my OH is helping me replace 2 polycarbonate roof panels in the greenhouse today.... if you remember my snowy shower story you will know why!!!
When we constructed the greenhouse was the closest we ever came to divorce in 20 years ago. should be a fun day!!!

Amazing pics @Busy-Lizzie .....will be interesting to see if the hellebore and daffodil come out unscathed (I think the clothes pegs will be alright 😉).  Keep us posted 😀

Still icy here, but rain and an increase in temperatures forecast for later today and the rest of the week.  I have lots of jobs in the garden I want to get going on .... icy conditions no good, but loads of rain not much good either.  Might have to get my waterproofs on to prune the apple trees 🍎.

We made an attempt at storing our apples this year - going to use the last crate today.  They’ve stored really well, so will definitely make the effort next year.
  • Double celebrations here ... I've just had a phone call from the hospital offering me a Pfizer jab tomorrow 12 noon ... of course I accepted (and have cancelled the booking for 1st March).  Whoopee!!!!!

Hello all, a very foggy cold start here today, the sun is try to shift it but not much luck at the moment. The temperatures are set to rise this week, so looking forwards to getting out and doing some pruning. I have Hemerocallis that need dividing but the soil is still too wet and a lot of them didn't die down over winter so are already growing again, I think I will have to trim the leaves back down before dividing. Oh did manage to cut the grass about ten days ago but now it is too wet again to cut.
Keep safe on all the ice and warm!
  • @WonkyWomble our heating had been on for 11/2 hours at that point. Yesterday because it was sunny we didn't have the heating on between 10 and  3, I think it will be on all day today unless the sun breaks through, even though it was supposed to be much colder outside yesterday than today.
    AB Still learning

Good news on the jab @Dovefromabove , it is a good feeling to know you will soon be at least halfway to safety.
"Our" roe deer is lying up in the rough grass this morning. We still have some residual snow but she seems comfy enough. I expect we will be hearing the patter of tiny hooves in a few months as our garden seems to be her maternity ward.

    Morning all.
    That’s great news Dove 💉

Just doing a few jobs around the house between cuppas. Too cold, and now wet, to do anything outside today.

My garden and I live in South Wales.
