  • @Pat E, yes some anniversary dates are more difficult than others,  my brother died the same day in June as the twins birthday,  so always a day of mixed emotions for me.
Still a bit creaky today and it's threatening rain so not sure what I will do today.
@Hostafan1 I wasn't kidding about the salt water,  yes  of course the antibiotics,  but they will take a day or two to build up to a therapeutic level.  If you can stand it the salt water will hold things in check till they can get going . Guess how I know 🤔

Yes Busy Lizzie roofers arrived but not till 8 AM! Lots of banging, its a garage and utility room roof. We converted the garage to a store room and the flat roof had become decidedly 'spongey'.
Hope your rose planting is successful.

    Hi all

    Hugs to @Pat E and to @Hostafan1

Sunny here, but bitter wind, will try to take my decrepit body outside and pretend I am a gardener.

Hello folks, nice sunny day so have been able to prune the bud delia in the front garden and do a bit of pottering. OH is going to try mowing the lawn which is still quite damp. Difficult days @Pat E , @AuntyRach and @Allotment Boy as Pat says just concentrate on the good memories.

  • I've forced myself to take a break and angled myself looking at a bit of garden that doesn't need doing - lovely day and the birdsong is fabulous. I have also managed to deadhead all my hydrangeas at last. 😁

It is dull and grey and cool here.  So much for wall to wall sunshine that was forecast.

SM raid today starting with a trip to LIDL who are having an Italian fest altho they didn't have all the items in their catalogue so no Asti for Possum and no Bardolino or Nobile de Montepulciano for us.  However, I did get some lemon farfalle to try and a new stock of Amaretti which I use to stuff peaches for grilling in summer and some tinned, whole cherry toms and 1 small block of pecorino.   Normal supermarket after that and found everything I needed tho some stocks are low.  No idea if that's a problem with their shelf stackers or their supplies and I still can't get ordinary wholemeal flour.

Stupid knee still throbbing but I shall go and have a play outside anyway.

Always good to concentrate on fond memories of what was good rather than what you've lost but not easy so "courage" as they say here to all those grieving for loved ones.

    Afternoon folks,
A busy day today.  Popped to Ashwoods this morning and used my Christmas garden vouchers to buy two blueberry bushes, Bluecrop and Gold Traube, and 3 bags of ericatious compost.  Then I went to get my jab, no problems yet so I'm keeping my fingers crossed.  This afternoon I have planted the blueberries and created a bed for my raspberries.  3 canes are planted, just need to make another small bed for two more.  I called it a day then and I've come inside for a cuppa.
Hugs for those who need them
